[Bug 1631955] Re: Update e-d-s to 3.22.1

2016-10-10 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I installed the evolution-data-server packages from yakkety-proposed. I then
rebooted (because e-d-s sometimes keeps services running even after log out?).
I tried these apps and they appeared to work as well as before:
- evolution
- gnome-calendar
- gnome-contacts
- gnome-shell and its built-in calendar

I set the block-proposed tag because I believe it would have
automatically been promoted to the regular yakkety archives today
without that tag. I'll let the release team decide if they want this
update now or would rather wait a few more days.

[Bug 792085] Re: Automatic remount of safely removed usb 3.0 drive

2016-10-10 Thread msj
For USB 3.0 Disks, Across Ubuntu Distros. This surely needs to have
more priority.

Unless this is fixed, We noobs might simply give up on Ubuntu/Linux
altogether.

My Machine: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, NVidia Chipset, Asus X552C

Device: Seagate BackupPlus 1 TB USB POwered Ext Hard disk Issue: Ext HDD
keeps spinning(I place the palm below Ext HDD & feel the spinning is
still On), Light keeps glowing, Nautilus Left Side Panel shows the disk
is till mounted.

mount will list all mounted disks.. I used & found Seagate HDD is
mounted as /dev/sdb1 I installed udisks using apt-get & ran these 2
commands in terminal. udisks --unmount /dev/sdb1 udisks --detach
/dev/sdb

Caution***not udisks --detach /dev/sdb1, It is /dev/sdb

Now, the Nautilus Left Side Panel doesn't show the mounted icon for the
Ext HDD, but the spinning is still on.

I tried sudo umount -f /dev/sdb1

I get the error, umount2: Invalid argument umount: /dev/sdb1: not
mounted

My Problem is I've already lost 2 different 1 TB HDD's while working on
Ubuntu. Data Retrieval costs are upwards of $3.5 per GB in Bangalore
(200 INR per GB at SP Road)

Does anyone have a solution. Note: I've had the Ext HDD attached to
the laptop from past 7 days & spinning is still On.

I'm at end of my wits & can't afford to loose the data in this HDD.

[Bug 996646] Re: Evolution mbox export broken

2016-10-10 Thread Max_E
The Precise release is coming close to EOL, so I'm sure some people
(like me) are panicking and trying to migrate their email to new systems
before April. Therefore, I'd like to report how I worked around this
issue in case anyone finds it useful. It's based on a modified version
of the directions in comment #3.

However, if you happen to need a 32-bit version of the fixed
libevolution package, then just install the one I've attached. If you
need a 64-bit version, then AntoineM has built one in comment #4
(although I haven't tested it.) The rest of this is just in case you
need to build your own fixed package.

First of all, here's a direct link to the upstream patch to fix the
issue: [1] the link in AntoineM's post doesn't work anymore; I think due
to a hash collision in Evolution's git history, it goes to the wrong
commit. But this link seems to work for me, for anyone who needs the
patch. However, if it still doesn't work for you, look through their
commit logs for commits during Febuary 2, 2012. The one you want is
called "Bug 667576 - Junk between messages after saving an mbox file."

Second of all, between when Evolution 3.2.3 was released and when the bugfix
was written, the Evolution team appear to have moved their files around. In the
older version, the e-mail-folder-utils.c file is in the "mail" directory
instead of in "libemail-engine." So to patch it I did
cd evolution-3.2.3/mail
patch -p2 https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution/patch/?id=df3495a6ec99d53beeaac6b9a2fde8dfd356c439

[Bug 1174162] Re: chrome-browser makes gnome-keyring-daemon use 100% cpu

2016-10-10 Thread owise1
On my system this bug appears to have been resolved since Chromium
updated to Version 53.0.2785.143. I note that when I boot up the
system, at the log-in screen that I get a dialogue box requesting the
wireless network password which has not occurred in the past so not sure
if something has also changed with gnome-keyring.

[Bug 1632115] [NEW] Wayland Freeze when Moving Evolution Screen to Screen

2016-10-10 Thread Christopher
Public bug reported:

When testing GNOME+Wayland+16.04 I have this weird reproducible bug.
When I'm in "Blown Out" mode (push windows key) and I have multiple
monitors. If I move evolution (mail client) from window to window it
will fail and freeze the Wayland instance. Not input will be accepted
even function keys that change screen brightness or backlit keyboard
fail.

I can't seem to find a way to kill Wayland (I need a CTRL+ALT+DEL
option) and I end up having to hard boot my system. When I come back in
I don't see a crash report or anything in `/var/crash` to indicate
anything went wrong.

Additionally I can't seem to find a Wayland log file to look for more
information. Please advise on how to collect more details for this
issue.

[Bug 1632027] [NEW] New Document feature missing from Nautilus 3.20+

2016-10-10 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu has a patch ( 16_unity_new_documents.patch ) to enable a 'New
Document' function in the right-click context menu. This patch was not
ported to Nautilus 3.20 so this Ubuntu-specific feature is missing in
Ubuntu 16.10.

While this patch being disabled is noted in the debian/changelog, here's
a formal bug to document the issue and maybe give it a bit more
visibility so that it will be fixed.

[Bug 1631955] Re: Update e-d-s to 3.22.1

2016-10-10 Thread Martin Pitt
Hello Jeremy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted evolution-data-server into yakkety-proposed. The package will
build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/evolution-data-server/3.22.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the
-proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1631955] [NEW] Update e-d-s to 3.22.1

2016-10-10 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
==
There's a new release of evolution-data-server (e-d-s) from the stable 3.22
branch. This release
- Update translations
- Fixes some console warnings caused by search folders when quitting an app
- Attempts to fix Google Authentication token expired issue. The bug was
re-opened upstream because the fixes worked for one person but apparently
weren't enough for another.
I experienced the Google expired token bug myself but I haven't verified yet
whether the update fixes the issue. See attached GNOME bug.

Since e-d-s is an important library/service used by several apps and
shipped on all Ubuntu desktop flavors (I think), I suggest we not try to
rush this into yakkety at the last moment before release, but handle it
like a regular SRU.

The e-d-s update is required to update evolution from 3.22 to 3.22.1.

https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution-data-server/log/?h=gnome-3-22
https://git.gnome.org/browse/evolution-data-server/tree/NEWS/?h=gnome-3-22

Test Case
=
Check several of evolution-data-server's reverse-dependencies to ensure they're
still working.

$ reverse-depends src:evolution-data-server

Regression Potential

Basically only search folders and Google authentication were touched in this
update, so check those for problems. The Evolution stack is big and complex but
this is a fairly minor stable release update.

[Bug 1631364] Re: gnome-screensaver crashes on remote login

2016-10-10 Thread Pierre Ossman (Cendio AB)
Scratch that. Happens every login.

The problem seems to be in gs_fade_finalize(). It calls
fade->priv->screen_priv[i].fade_finish() even though that function may
be NULL (which it will be if the display does not support any gamma
adjustment).

[Bug 1631869] [NEW] Update gnome-logs to 3.22.1

2016-10-10 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
==
There's a new stable release in the 3.22 series for gnome-logs. This just
updates translations, adding a Danish translation and updating a few others

https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-logs/log?h=gnome-3-22

gnome-logs is in universe and is not translated by language packs with
Launchpad so these translation updates will go straight to users.

gnome-logs is used by default in Ubuntu GNOME 16.10.

Test Case

Ensure gnome-logs still works

Regression Potential

Only translations are affected.

[Bug 1629132] Re: Please merge network-manager-openvpn 1.2.6-2 from Debian (unstable) to Ubuntu (yakkety)

2016-10-10 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package network-manager-openvpn -
1.2.6-2ubuntu1

---
network-manager-openvpn (1.2.6-2ubuntu1) yakkety; urgency=medium

  * Merge with Debian (LP: #1629132) Remaining changes:
- Allow the "udp6" and "tcp6" protocols to be passed through to OpenVPN.

network-manager-openvpn (1.2.6-2) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Don't run the tests in parallel for now until bgo#772464 is fixed.
(Closes: #839848)

network-manager-openvpn (1.2.6-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
- Fix recent change in behavior for "comp-lzo=no" setting.
  (Closes: #833166)
  * Bump debhelper compat level to 10.
  * Drop Use-user-nobody-group-nogroup-when-exporting-an-OpenVPN-c.patch. This
patch is no longer necessary as we now create a nm-openvpn system user in
postinst. So we use that instead of nobody / nogroup when exporting an
OpenVPN connection.

network-manager-openvpn (1.2.4-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Imported Upstream version 1.2.4
  * Bump Build-Depends on libsecret-dev to (>= 0.18) as per configure.ac
  * Refresh patches

network-manager-openvpn (1.2.2-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
  * Bump network-manager related build dependencies to >= 1.2.0.
  * Add Depends on network-manager (>= 1.2.0) to network-manager-vpnc. This
ensures we have a version that can handle plugin paths which are not
absolute. (Closes: #823062)
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.8.

network-manager-openvpn (1.2.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * New upstream release.
