[Bug 1626935] Re: [yakkety] desktop is black and/or flickering after plugging in a second monitor

2016-11-03 Thread Rocko
I also saw artefacts this morning all along the bottom 10% of the
desktop background on the laptop monitor (the launcher was rendered
without issues). I'm not sure what triggered it, but I had resumed the
laptop and plugged in a new monitor earlier in the morning. Killing
nautilus and restarting it fixed the problem.

[Bug 1614050] Re: Window depth order messed up

2016-11-03 Thread Brian Murray
Hello dronus, or anyone else affected,

Accepted metacity into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/metacity/1:3.18.7-0ubuntu0.2 in a
few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

** Description changed:

  # Test Case
  Described in comment
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/metacity/+bug/1614050/comments/16

  # Impact
Sometimes the window depth order is wrong, for example the desktop icons
appear above all windows. Also sometimes windows disappear and the only way to
bring them back to life is restarting Metacity. This can result in loss of work
results for users who do not know how to deal with this bug.

  # Fix
The Xenial fix is composed of two upstream commits, in gnome-3-18 branch:
  - https://git.gnome.org/browse/metacity/commit/?id=72488dc76ee24a3e

  # Regression Potential
The patch has been in Yakkety for almost a month, and nobody complained.
+ [bdmurray] - That's not a description of what could go wrong, rather one of
what hasn't gone wrong in Yakkety. Please add some possible regressions and
what users testing this fix should look out for.

  =
Using the gome-flashback session with metacity is totally messed up since I
updated from Ubuntu 14.04.3 to 16.04.1.

All the effects mentioned here do not appear when using compiz, so I
  guess Metacity is broken.

-Windows that should open in front (like Kupfer) appear behind the
  windows already open.

-Before nemo is run, the Ubuntu default desktop background image appear,
it can't be changed by settings. I just guess this is due wrong ordering
of the true background and some window used by Gnome for showing the
  selected background.

-If nemo is run to take over the desktop, the destkop icons appear in
  front of all windows.

I guess all those effects originate from a similiar reason. None of
these problems where appearant at Ubuntu 14.04.

This is a total show stopper for using metacity on 16.04 as everyday
applications like nemo and Kupfer can't be used.

** Changed in: metacity (Ubuntu Xenial)
   Status: New => Fix Committed

** Tags added: verification-needed

Public bug reported:

Often get such problem when using calc, either the 5.2.2 or 5.2.3 version,
mainly when i click on the top right arrow to expand the formula bar.
This is not happening every time but quite half time. Looks like glib2.0 is
linked with the issue: first the app freeze due to the click failure, the cpu
goes to 100% for a while; at that point, either it finally succeed to expand
the formula bar or it crash.

[Bug 1442105] Re: GPS not working on my BQ Ubuntu Touch

2016-11-03 Thread Frank Prat
Hello,

i have similar problems with my meizu pro5 since OTA 11 and no other OTA
solves the problem. Unav starts, but nothing appears, no active button.
The GPS is on, the data roaming is allowed and it worked perfectly with
OTA 10. Google map doesn't find my position too, the same for the
weather app. Only the clock app seems to be able to locate me.

I will do the forensics, but i need to understand what is asked (some
files are not present, some other are not exactly what asked)

[Bug 1638846] [NEW] Update GLib to fix a bug with Trash in Nautilus

2016-11-03 Thread clel
Public bug reported:

As described here there is a bug in Ubuntu 16.10 with trash and external
drives in Nautilus:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1633824

Seems that this has been fixed already with GLib 2.50.1 according to
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=773819#c3

So updating the package for Ubuntu 16.10 would fix this bug.

[Bug 1638836] [NEW] resolv.conf for resolved stub server should have a comment how to see the actual servers

2016-11-03 Thread Martin Pitt
Public bug reported:

resolv.conf currently just has

  nameserver 127.0.0.53

with resolved (its local stub resolver). We should have an extra comment
on top of that that says

  # systemd-resolved stub resolver; run "systemd-resolve --status" to
see the actual name servers
