[Bug 1617468] Re: Package contains files in /usr/@DATADIRNAME@/locale

2016-12-16 Thread Gregory Gulbrandson
The correct directory for the file is /usr/share/locale/*

I checked this by extracting the file, moving the locales to the correct
directory, and rebuilding the package. After that they installed to the
correct path versus the debian package. I do not know where these
locale files are called from, so I cannot test if this breaks anything
(or if anything else is broken right now, I'm sure a locale about page
is somewhere.)

[Bug 1650684] [NEW] Position of gnome-system-monitor is not remembered on screen when under Wayland

2016-12-16 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 with GNOME 3.22 and since switching from
Xorg to Wayland via the login screen I have noticed that with the gnome-
system-monitor that it always starts off on the left hand side of the
screen, and I like to have it on the right hand side, so that is where I
always put it. However, if I restart it, it always goes back to the left
side rather than remembering where it was before like it does if I close
it when it is fullscreen.

So far it seems that this issue only affects the gnome-system-monitor,
all other applications behave as expected in regards to this matter.

[Bug 1650681] [NEW] tracker-extract uses 1GB of RAM at idle

2016-12-16 Thread Paul
Public bug reported:

After two weeks, tracker-extract had an RSS of 0.5GB. I rebooted the
system and logged back in. tracker-extract started working, and had soon
consumed 1GB. It stopped extracting after a few minutes ("tracker daemon
-w" shows no further activity) but keeps sitting at around 1GB resident.

Initial:
PID %CPU %MEMVSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
2425 0.0 1.5 2979100 517124 tty3 SNl+ Dec03 1:54

After reboot:

~/.cache/tracker/meta.db was 46MB before the reboot, and is now 110MB.

[Bug 1650667] [NEW] Dapper Contents files are empty at old-releases.ubuntu.com

2016-12-16 Thread mpb
Public bug reported:

Is there some reason that the Contents-.gz files are empty for
Dapper at old-releases.ubuntu.com?

http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/dapper/

Contents-amd64.gz 29-Apr-2011 05:39 677
Contents-hppa.gz16-Dec-2008 05:56 9.1M
Contents-i386.gz29-Apr-2011 05:39 677
Contents-ia64.gz29-Apr-2011 05:39 677
Contents-powerpc.gz 29-Apr-2011 05:39 677
Contents-sparc.gz 29-Apr-2011 05:39 677

Contents-hppa.gz is 9.1M, but all the others are only 677 bytes long.

Is this fixable?

[Bug 1650634] [NEW] when installing systemd, it creates /run/nologin preventing all users from logging in.

2016-12-16 Thread tim.tadh

How to replicate:

sudo apt-get install systemd

wait for 5 minutes

check to see if /run/nologin appears. If it does the bug is present. See
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2327330

I ran this command via ansible on all of my servers. Then I could no
longer log into any of them. Pretty big bug in my opinion. Please fix.

[Bug 1650555] [NEW] nsswitch.conf configuration doesn't work with mdns hosts

2016-12-16 Thread Alberto Donato
Public bug reported:

On a fresh Ubuntu 16.10 (yakkety) install, resolution of mDNS hosts
doesn't work anymore (it used to in xenial)

I can resolve names with avahi-resolve but ssh, ping, etc. fail to
resolve.

After some digging I found out that what's causing it is the "resolve"
option in /etc/nsswitch.conf:

hosts: files resolve [!UNAVAIL=return] mdns4_minimal
[NOTFOUND=return] dns

Changing it to

hosts: files mdns4_minimal [NOTFOUND=return] dns

(as it was on xenial) makes mDNS work again.
