[Bug 1670959] [NEW] systemd-resolved using 100% CPU

2017-03-07 Thread Tamas Papp
Public bug reported:

Sometimes systemd-resolved process is using 100% CPU.
After a while it changes back to normal.

It happens usually after connecting to the (wifi) network, like starting
the OS.

strace output:

[Bug 1670009] Re: Remove libunity9 package dependency for nautilus

2017-03-07 Thread Jeremy Bicha
This is intentional and it is not easily split out into a separate
package.

https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-
desktop/nautilus/ubuntu/view/head:/debian/patches/12_unity_launcher_support.patch

So unless you can propose a patch to do this while not regressing
Nautilus' behavior for Unity users, this isn't really something we're
interested in.

libunity is a small library and doesn't seem to cause any problems for
users of other desktops.

Jeff Kowalski - Thanks for the help. I don't have a ~/.linuxbrew/

that I could try searching for pkg-config to see where it might be

[Bug 1670875] [NEW] "Fake" transparency, w/ Flashback session and non-compositing WM, no longer works

2017-03-07 Thread Nathan Dorfman
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 14.04 and earlier, gnome-terminal's transparent background
option works well with gnome-session-flashback and a non-compositing
window manager. I actually use xmonad, but metacity --no-composite shows
the same behavior: instead of real transparency, the portion of the
desktop background corresponding to the terminal window's relative
position is drawn as the background, and is updated when the window
moves.

The attached screenshot demonstrates what this looks like in 14.04 with
metacity.

In Ubuntu 16.04, this no longer works: a solid black background is
displayed instead. However, if I downgrade gnome-terminal to the trusty
packages, it works as before.

To reproduce:
 1. execute sudo apt-get install gnome-session-flashback
 2. log in with 'GNOME Flashback (Metacity)' session
 3. start gnome-terminal and set background to transparent
 4. execute metacity --no-composite --replace

[Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not

2017-03-07 Thread Oliver Gad Larsen
I had the exact same problem as described but I am using Arch Linux. I made a
simple uninstall with pacman -Rcsn. I know this isn't the same command for
ubuntu but just use apt-get autoremove and make sure to add the option that
also removes all configuration files. Some times some files are still there. In
my case it was in my home folder under .config/nautilus and .local/nautilus
both for my user and root. To be sure you have deleted everything I suggest
using the command:
"find|grep nautilus" under both root and your home to make sure all files are
deleted. After that I installed nautilus again. Maybe make a full restart
before but I didn't have to. I use Gnome 3 on Arch Linux so hope this maybe
apply to you as my discovery makes me think that it might be a fault with
configuration files.

[Bug 209513] Re: After upgrade, "Update standard folders to current language" threatens to rename your home folder

2017-03-07 Thread Aurosutru
Wow, this bugginess is still around in 16.04. Today after a minor
upgrade this offer to change folders came up. I initially declined the
offer but when it persisted I accepted and my Download folder with 13 GB
of data disappeared - poof - and was replaced with an empty Download
folder. Fortunately, after reading the above comments it seemed the data
was still around and turned out to be fairly easy to locate. The
Download folder was tucked away in Home's .cache folder. A new Download
folder had been created, so it was a simple matter to merge the two and
everything is now back to normal. What fun :-/

[Bug 1668429] Re: X apps (LibreOffice, Thunderbird) fail to launch with failure to open display (no Xmir is running)

2017-03-07 Thread Michał Sawicz
Nope, shared Xmir not a solution, we need each client to connect in a
separate session, to securely identify it. And there's security
considerations for that as well.

Not to mention gtk, for example, just probes available display servers
and uses the first one that works, which could very well result in them
running under X, when they should run natively.

[Bug 1670390] Re: Desktop applications don't get properly resized when launched in staged mode

With gtk+ apps, when they get launched the ask for a resize. If in
tablet/phone mode unity8 will deny/ignore it, but gtk thinks the resize
was successful and renders as if its window had the size it requested

[Bug 1669655] Re: Adapt to new Nautilus icon name

2017-03-07 Thread Jeremy Bicha
** Description changed:

Nautilus 3.24's app icon name is org.gnome.Nautilus instead of system-
  file-manager for better flatpak compatibility.

I have updated ubuntu-themes and humanity-icon-theme for this change
(adding a new symlink pointing to system-file-manager).

ubuntu-themes is handled via bileto so I'll ask the appropriate people
  to sponsor that separately. DONE

I pushed my change to the humanity bzr branch but I don't have upload rights
for it so I'll need sponsorship for this:

[Bug 1670683] [NEW] Nautilus ignores "Documents" if it is a symlink to a NFS share

2017-03-07 Thread Christian González
Public bug reported:

Nautilus
I have a NFS share where many Ubuntu desktops share the same remote folder as
Documents (German "Dokumente") and Pictures (German "Bilder") folders. This
works perfectly, only Nautilus refuses to show the "Dokumente" folder in its
left side navigation bar. One of the computers weirdly works perfectly (folders
are shown), but all others (3) don't have these entries, see screenshot.

[Bug 1666007] Re: package udev 232-18ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2017-03-07 Thread Dimitri John Ledkov
Note you appear to be running a development release and have -proposed
enabled, this is not a supported combination, as one should not use the
broken -proposed pocket during development release.

[Bug 1397142] Re: Bluetooth headset play/pause key not fully effective in various media players

2017-03-07 Thread Artyom
> Hi, is there any way to work around this issue? I confirm that the bug
is persistent in 16.04.

Global application shortcuts still work correctly with bluetooth media
buttons. So for me I worked around this problem particularly with
rhythmbox by adding global application shortcut to command "rhythmbox-
client --play-pause".

[Bug 1370953] Re: layout switch is delayed

2017-03-07 Thread Semenov Pasha
By default ubuntu use deadline diso io scheduler.
It seams that changinq disk scheduler from deadline to cfq solves the problem.
