[Bug 9441] Re: the locate pointer option breaks other keybindings

2017-04-12 Thread Ben Abrams
This is still not fixed or is a regression in xenial. Should we re-open
or create a new request?

I can replicate this with keepass2 and virtualbox.

Replication steps:
1. Go to gnome tweak tool and change "Show location of pointer" to "ON"
2. attempt to use the ctrl key such as ctrl + c, all ctrl key combinations are
swallowed.
3. Go to gnome tweak tool and change "Show location of pointer" to "OFF"
4. attempt to use the ctrl key such as ctrl + c, everything should work as
intended.

[Bug 1682238] [NEW] Update mutter and gnome-shell to 3.24.1

2017-04-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
--
3.24.1 is a new bugfix release in the stable 3.24 series. Although mutter and
gnome-shell could be handled separately, it makes sense to handle them together
since they're so closely tied together.

This has several fixes for GNOME Shell 3.24's new Weather feature built-
in to the clock menu. There are quite a few other bugfixes too.

https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-shell/tree/NEWS?h=gnome-3-24
https://git.gnome.org/browse/mutter/tree/NEWS?h=gnome-3-24

https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-shell/log?h=gnome-3-24
https://git.gnome.org/browse/mutter/log?h=gnome-3-24

Test Case
-
In Ubuntu GNOME, install the update then reboot. Log in.

Do the same with Ubuntu Budgie (or you can install budgie-desktop on top
of Ubuntu GNOME and then log in to Budgie afterwards.)

Regression Potential

The biggest risk is that something in the update causes Budgie or GNOME Shell
to no longer work. If GNOME Shell is broken, it could break gdm which is very
bad for Ubuntu GNOME users.

[Bug 1682236] [NEW] Update gnome-desktop3 to 3.24.1

2017-04-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
--
Since we do our own translations, the only impact is that some tools use the
version reported by this package as the version of GNOME. Since we're updating
most of the other GNOME packages to 3.24.1, it's appropriate to do this one too.

Test Case
-
Install gnome-recipes (this version is a very large download; it will be a
smaller download in 17.10)
Open the Recipes app. In the top bar, click the Recipes app menu and select
About.
Switch to the System tab. The Desktop should say "GNOME 3.24.1".

Regression Potential

There shouldn't really be a regression here. Two languages got translation
updates but those aren't really used.

[Bug 1664222] Re: Update evolution-data-server to 3.22.7

2017-04-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I tested this update by installing evolution 3.22.6-0ubuntu0.1 which
pulled in evolution-data-server 3.22.7-0ubuntu0.1 on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10.
I restarted. I opened Settings>Online Accounts (this is GNOME Settings,
not Evolution Settings) and added my Google account. I then opened
Evolution. My Google Calendar and Contacts synced successfully. My email
synced successfully with IMAP. I was able to open plain text and HTML
emails. And I sent a test email from Evolution that I received
successfully in another account outside of Evolution.

I also verified that the GNOME Calendar and Contacts apps showed the
right data from my Google account.

[Bug 1678205] Re: Update epiphany to 3.22.7

2017-04-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I installed epiphany-browser (and epiphany-browser-data) 3.22.7-0ubuntu1
on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10.

I visited ubuntu.com and I did a Google search. I bookmarked a page. I
opened a new tab. My visited pages showed up correctly on the New Tab
page.

I also visited terveystalo.com and verified that the page loaded without
crashing after I clicked English.

[Bug 1518813] Re: sharing panel fails to properly launch required daemons

2017-04-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Bradon, there is a proposed fix for this bug. If you can verify that the
fix works, it can be released for all Ubuntu 16.04 users:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vino/+bug/1607663

But this bug should not affect Ubuntu GNOME 16.10. Please file a new bug
for that with details.

[Bug 1682132] [NEW] Update gnome-settings-daemon to 3.24.1

2017-04-12 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

Impact
--
gnome-settings-daemon 3.24.1 is a bugfix release in the stable 3.24 series.

https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/log?h=gnome-3-24
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings-daemon/tree/NEWS?h=gnome-3-24
https://git.gnome.org/browse/libgnome-volume-control/commit/?id=d52194f
https://git.gnome.org/browse/libgnome-volume-control/commit/?id=ce8e488

gnome-settings-daemon itself is used by Ubuntu Budgie and Ubuntu GNOME.
The schemas are also used by Ubuntu, Ubuntu Kylin and Ubuntu MATE. And Ubuntu
Touch.

Test Case
-
After installing the update, reboot and log into GNOME

Regression Potential

The changes look like minimal bugfixes. Affected are Bluetooth audio, GNOME's
Night Light feature, and the clipboard. Schemas shouldn't be affected in this
update.

[Bug 1681523] [NEW] [Launcher] missing right click options

2017-04-12 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Running :
Description:Ubuntu Zesty Zapus (development branch)
Release:17.04

Not sure where to postthis but...

Just noticed that "Right Click" options for the "Terminal" App are
missing when it's locked to the 'Launcher' side-bar.

You used to get the option to open "Open a New Window" or "Open a New
Tab" when you right clicked on the launcher icon.

Now the only options are "Terminal", "Unlock from Launcher" and "Quit".
