[Bug 1685683] Re: Update evolution to 3.24.1
** Description changed: We should update the Evolution stack to 3.24 for Ubuntu 17.10. The big change here is that it now uses cmake instead of autotools. The update is staged in this PPA and rebuilds of all rdepends have been done: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/+archive/ubuntu/transitions/+packages I made a few packaging changes we should review with Debian. 1. I dropped https://sources.debian.net/src/evolution-data- server/unstable/debian/patches/01-noinst-libedbus-private.patch/ and added a libedbus-private0 package and had all the e-d-s libraries depend on it. 2. I dropped https://sources.debian.net/src/evolution/unstable/debian/patches /10_revert_libevolution_avoid-version.patch/ since it does not directly apply to cmake and it doesn't seem needed. The soname hasn't been bumped in 5 years. I had to have libevolution Breaks/Replaces evolution-dev since there are no .so symlinks any more. 3. [Bug 1685035] Re: GDM login doesn't scale on Hi-DPI display
jefferson9, please don't install packages built for artful (Ubuntu 17.10) on your zesty (Ubuntu 17.04) install. Here's how I recommend getting back to the zesty packages. The gnome-settings-daemon-dev and gnome-settings-daemon-dbgsym packages are not in the default install and aren't needed by most people (but it's fine to keep them installed if you think you want them). sudo apt remove gnome-settings-daemon-dev gnome-settings-daemon-dbgsym sudo apt install gnome-settings-daemon/zesty gnome-settings-daemon-schemas/zesty There was a mistake in the artful upload so I uploaded a new version now. This week, there is another gnome-settings-daemon Stable Release Update (LP: #1682132) that was already accepted into zesty-proposed for testing before the fix for this bug was pushed into gnome-settings-daemon's git repository. After that previous fix is verified and pushed into zesty- updates, we can work on getting this bug fixed into zesty too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1685035 Title: GDM login doesn't scale on Hi-DPI display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1685035/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1686077] [NEW] Own org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.MediaKeys D-Bus name too
Public bug reported: Impact == This bugfix enabled gnome-settings-daemon's multimedia key support to work according to what the API has said for years (in addition to the way it's been commonly used). https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-settings- daemon/commit/?h=gnome-3-24&id=42f75ed4cdc86498d6e02e511a1314b8916bd4aa https://mail.gnome.org/archives/desktop-devel- list/2017-April/msg00069.html The SRU justification is that newer versions of apps will be switching to the D-Bus name in the API documentation. If someone installs the newer version from a PPA or a Flatpak or Snap, the multimedia key support should continue working. Test Case = ? Regression Potential This should just make gnome(unity)-settings-daemon own both the commonly used D-Bus name and the one actually defined in the API docs. ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Fix Released ** Affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Medium Status: Triaged ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Medium Status: Triaged ** Affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Medium Status: Triaged ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Medium Status: Triaged ** Affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Medium Status: Triaged ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Medium Status: Triaged ** Affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Medium Status: Triaged ** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Debian) Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Tags: xenial yakkety zesty ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #86 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=86 ** Also affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Debian) via http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=86 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #781326 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=781326 ** Also affects: gnome-settings-daemon via https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=781326 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Also affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Xenial) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Yakkety) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: unity-settings-daemon (Ubuntu Zesty) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1686077 Title: Own org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.MediaKeys D-Bus name too To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1686077/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
