If we don't have time to solve it then perhaps the community would be
keen? (since so many people like theming anyway)

[Bug 1702071] Re: Search spins forever, returns no results.

2017-07-03 Thread Robert Ancell
There's one thing I noticed in there, I think the pin-town icon is
larger than the snap plugin can handle - can you confirm if this occurs
after uninstalling pin-town? I don't think this is related but worth
checking (and I'll fix that anyway).

This bug also prevents Deja-dup / duplicity from working.

Launching manually from terminal

When launching chromium password is asked but after that chromium and

gnome-session (3.24.1-0ubuntu8) artful; urgency=medium

  * Change ubuntu-session to Arch: any for new xwayland dependency

gnome-session (3.24.1-0ubuntu7) artful; urgency=medium

  * debian/control.in:
- Have ubuntu-session depend on xwayland like gnome-session does
  Thanks corrado for the report! (LP: #1701822)
- Have ubuntu-session and gnome-session depend on gnome-shell.
  Now that gnome-shell recommends instead of depends on gnome-session |
  ubuntu-session, there is no circular dependency so let's not diverge
  from Debian.

I mentioned to Robert last week that I keep getting the spinner and no
results returned when searching in g-s on 16.04. He suggested I update
to the version in the PPA and enable logging to capture what's
happening. Log attached.

[Bug 1702063] [NEW] systemctl -n option ignores values greater than 10

2017-07-03 Thread Jon Forsberg
Public bug reported:

The manpage for systemctl says that -n can be used to specify how many
journal lines to show.

It only works for values <= 10, there is no way to make it show more
than 10 lines. For example 'systemctl -n 100 status SERVICE' shows 10
lines, not 100. 'journalctl -n 100 -u SERVICE' does work as expected
though.

Its confusing if you are not aware of this and can make you miss
important output from a failed program.

[Bug 1698287] Re: VA-API fails to initialize in a Gnome Shell Wayland session

2017-07-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Without sounding too defeated, I think it might be a good idea for us to
not use the patch in comment #5 any time soon. The reason is that while
the patch is correct, it triggers bigger issues in clutter-gst. And that
starts to make me think I'm going too deep down this rabbit hole.

It probably doesn't make sense to fix gstreamer/clutter stuff if it's
too time consuming, when we already know gstreamer lacks a variety of
working demuxers, and is already so unpopular that it's not part of the
long term plan anyway (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IntelQuickSyncVideo).

The only real problem is that 'totem' is still our default video player.
And if clutter-gst is a mandatory requirement for that then I either
need to not give up yet, or we should consider changing default video
players in future (ideally to something that's more purely FFmpeg
instead of GStreamer).

[Bug 1701463] Re: gst-vaapi+Wayland = rendering corruption in totem (but not in gst-play-1.0)

2017-07-03 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Confirmed the problem seems to be in the clutter plugin:

env -uDISPLAY gst-launch-1.0 filesrc
location=bbb_sunflower_1080p_60fps_normal.mp4 ! qtdemux ! vaapidecodebin
! clutterautovideosink

so a workaround is to avoid clutter:

env -uDISPLAY gst-launch-1.0 filesrc
location=bbb_sunflower_1080p_60fps_normal.mp4 ! qtdemux ! vaapidecodebin
! glimagesink

** Package changed: totem (Ubuntu) => clutter-gst-3.0 (Ubuntu)

** Project changed: totem => clutter-gst
