[Bug 1697450] Re: Gnome Shell hangs at startup

2018-01-01 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Ah, yes. Sorry but your bug 1726600 is a duplicate of bug 1505409. And I
think this one is different to those two. It just means the wrong .crash
file was sent...

Please try following the steps in #15 again, or repeatedly, and we'll
see if we can find an instance of this one.

This bug should have been kept as Expired ideally, especially since the

Ubuntu releases should log new bugs in future, please.

That all said, looking at the attached Stacktrace.txt and
StacktraceSource.txt, I can tell this is actually a duplicate of the

[Bug 1740804] [NEW] Remove old vte package from Ubuntu

2018-01-01 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

The old vte source hasn't been maintained upstream since 2011 (when
GNOME 3 was released). vte will be dropped from Debian Testing soon. We
should not ship it in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The replacement is provided by
source vte2.91 (which requires gtk3).

The geany-plugins will be "fixed" in Debian soon by no longer building
them.

sjterm was already requested for removal in LP: #1728241
guake's removal was requested in LP: #1739800

[Bug 1720594] Re: Right click Files in launcher unity ubuntu 18.04

2018-01-01 Thread Khurshid Alam
Yes, it's a known issue. The quicklist bookmark plugin only works if the
application is running. In previous versions Nautilus and nautilus-
desktop were combined into a single package. But two are different
processes and only nautilus-desktop is running. Dynamic quicklist can
only work on Nautilus the app itself. One possible solution is to use
static quicklist for bookmarks. But Unity may not use nautilus in future
versions. So I am marking it as low importance.

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Unity don't work like expect since gnome turn default.

Right click on files in unity launcher don't show markers like it
should, this only happen in ubuntu 17.10.

Markers show if I open one window or more in nautilus.

It was a great feature in unity since ever I hope some solution come out

[Bug 1740743] [NEW] Hide Imagemagick's Display app from GNOME software

2018-01-01 Thread amano
Public bug reported:

In bug #1717951 Imagemagick was already removed from being displayed in
GNOME-Shell.

It is still listed in GNOME-Software which causes some (potential)
usability issues:

Users can still test the "imagemagick" app from within Ubuntu Software
and decide to remove it from there. Because that app looks dated, ugly
and out of place in a modern desktop environment. Removing Imagemagick
has the bad side-effect of removing printing support while user won't
even realize that Imagemagick was printing related at all.

Thus I propose to remove the app from being listed as installed in
Ubuntu Software at all. Or to be moved to the "System Apps" section to
prevent users from removing it manually (and unvoluntarily CUPS with
it).
