[Bug 1741839] Re: gdm3 lock screen (not log in) freezes sometime

2018-01-16 Thread Yassine
Now it is happening also before sliding the date/time screen up.
Unfortunately, It only happened when I was not watching the log. I am
trying to keep an android tablet connected via SSH to the affected
machine watching the outputs of that command you gave me most of the
time, so I hope I will get what you need as soon as possible.

** Description changed:

- Sometimes when I slide the lock screen with time and date up to input my
- password to unlock, everything freezes and I am unable to do anything
- but to hard reboot. I am talking about the lock screen (logged in
- already just locked).

[Bug 1181666] Re: gnome-shell randomly blocks mouse clicks from working in app windows

2018-01-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
After recently fixing bug 1739625, I now think some instances of this
bug will be similar to that -- a missing call to
clutter_actor_set_reactive(). Windows won't respond to mouse clicks
until mutter calls that function for them. And there are various classes
of application that will call that function under different
circumstances. Bug 1739625 only covered one very specific case.

We may need to split this bug into many again if more such fixes land
separately and only address a subset of applications.

[Bug 1021375] Re: Nautilus says the USB stick is read only when it is not

2018-01-16 Thread MDE
The same problem can happen in Thunar. For some cases Nautilus itself
needs an additional patch, but the underlying problem was identified and
fixed in glib. Unfortunately the fixed version is not available in
Ubuntu yet. See the Thunar bug for more details, and thanks go to Nelson
Benitez for fixing it:

2018-01-16 Thread Alan Pope  濾
Looking through the individual crashers that happened today, there's
something common in the 50 or so I clicked through. They're *all*
running kernel 4.4 or below (one person was on 3.13).

Nobody seems to be on the HWE kernels.

So perhaps there's something which mitigates this issue in HWE kernels.
If Robert was debugging and trying to reproduce locally, perhaps he's on
a HWE kernel which might be why he can't reproduce?

https://errors.ubuntu.com/problem/70c23d0f4e2be24b26672427d4218dc8f0823597
- scroll down and (if you have access) click through each crash instance
in turn.
