[Bug 1785600] Re: Natural scrolling is only applied in one direction (vertical)
I've just tested this in 18.10 (Firefox) and natural scrolling is correctly applied to both vertical and horizontal movement. Also, I think your statements are confused: * "when I move my fingers up, the content scrolls down". Yes, we call that scrolling "down" (the viewport) so the content is moving "up" which is the same direction as your fingers. * "when I move my fingers right, the content also moves right. I would expect it to move left with Natural Scrolling turned on." Yes, correct behaviour with natural scrolling when moving your fingers right is for the content to move right (and the scrollbar/viewport moves left). "Natural scrolling" means the page is virtually stuck to your fingers, so the scroll direction will always be the opposite direction to your finger movement. So it seems like everything is working. Is there a particular app you find isn't working? ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1785600 Title: Natural scrolling is only applied in one direction (vertical) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1785600/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1785717] [NEW] gedit after update to Ubuntu 1.8.04 is messed up
Public bug reported: Hello, I've updated my Ubuntu 16.04 to 18.04. The previous version was installed above Lubuntu 16.04. After update I got some error messages about problems with Lubuntu modules. But when I open a documents in gedit and try to scroll it down then my window gets covered with many symbols, like the previous view is left and many others (results of scrolling) are layered above it. I do not have such problems with other editors I use: Leafpad, Office, Jedit. It started to work properly only when I've changed from classic scheme, but I report it anyway, just in case. [Bug 1713313] Re: Unable to launch pkexec'ed applications on Wayland session
This isn't a bug but a major feature of wayland: If you have root rights you no more get access to the graphical user interface which makes it harder for a gui application to spy on another application's keyboard input. The backdraw of this is that every application that needs root rights for its work has to be re-written to have 2 parts: - the actual gui application and - a small helper that gets root access using pkgkit The second advantage of this security measure is that now no more the whole application that might suffer from security flaws has root access, but only the part that really needs root rights. td;lr: The fact that gui applications no more run when given root rights won't change. [Bug 1612708] [NEW] Symbolic Link does not work in 16.04 LTS as in 14.04 LTS
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS colord: Installiert: 1.2.12-1ubuntu1 Installationskandidat: 1.2.12-1ubuntu1 Versionstabelle: *** 1.2.12-1ubuntu1 500 500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Under Ubuntu 14.04 LTS I have created NAS access by using 'gvfs-mount smb://nasdo/public'. It is linked to '/run/user/1000/gvfs/ als smb- share:server=nasdo, share=public' and I have created a Symbolic Link to this point with 'ln -s /run/user/1000/gvfs/smb- share\:server\=nasdo\,share\=public ~/nasdo_public'. Using this link folders, and files on the NAS have been accessable with r/w from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. This is, what I expect from 16.04, too. Since I have upgraded to ubuntu 16.04 LTS a few days ago, all the links seem to be the same, but opening a file does not work. It comes to an input/output error. I can use the links to folders to navigate, but there is no chance to open e.g. an LibreOffice Calc Sheet, nor do I have access to mail folder via Thunderbird. Using gvfs-mount creates a shared folder in Nautilus called public. Using this way to access the NAS, and open the Calc file works with ubuntu 16.04 LTS fine. Locking to the syslog while trying to open a file creates the following entries: Aug 12 16:47:19 UDO systemd[1]: Started Hostname Service. [Bug 1785600] [NEW] Natural scrolling is only applied in one direction (vertical)
Public bug reported: (Apologies if this is the wrong place to report this - I tried to find the right place but the Ask Ubuntu people were not that helpful unfortunately. [1]) I've turned on Natural Scrolling for my touchpad. This works fine vertically: when I move my fingers up, the content scrolls down, and vice versa. However, when I move my fingers right, the content also moves right. I would expect it to move left with Natural Scrolling turned on.
