[Bug 1792365] Re: On-screen keyboard doesn't work outside of Ubuntu's text fields
As I understand it, OSK support is something that has to be implemented in each toolkit (e.g. GTK) or each app (e.g. Chrome) if not using a common toolkit, via accessibility APIs. Do you find any apps other than Chrome and Gedit affected? Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. [Bug 1792424] [NEW] Left panel flickers like crazy during several seconds after deleting a bunch of files
Public bug reported: I have no idea if there are some requirements to trigger this issue, so I don't know whether you'll be able to reproduce it by just following my steps. Anyway, I can reproduce it 100% of the times: 1. Open some folder in Nautilus 2. Select a few files. Make sure you select quite a few 3. Delete them by pressing the DEL key Expected: Nothing, a part from the files being deleted and disappearing from the displayed folder contents. Observed: During a few seconds after you hit Delete (I guess the time it takes to move the files to Trash and do some associated action, which by the way I don't know what it is that can take so long when deleting just a handful of files), the items in the list of shortcuts in the left panel (see screenshot) start flickering frantically, like crazy. It's pathetic. It looks like the item called "Networks", just below "Trash", disappears and reappears several times very quickly, causing all the items below it to move down and up, hence the flickering. Obviously it makes no sense. Note: there's nothing wrong to be appreciated in my screenshot, it just indicates where the flickering happens. [Bug 1792167] Re: Display size detected incorrectly
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected bionic ** Description changed: Since Ubuntu switched to Gnome, display scaling does not work correctly. This is because my external monitor is detected as 7" although it is 32". All applications which use Qt auto scaling have huge controls! It seems like many users have the same problem (https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2390362) and thus disable Qt auto scaling. I think the solution should be to fix the size detection instead. Further, it seems not related to graphics driver, since I personally use the open source driver with my internal Intel card, whereas someone else uses a proprietary Nvidia driver (https://askubuntu.com/q/1066879/206608). [Bug 1792316] [NEW] Hebrew keyboard does not work
Public bug reported: When I switch the keyboard to Hebrew, it types English. (Russian input works, however.) Maybe it was broken after running these Bash commands: v="[('xkb', 'us'), ('xkb', 'ru+typewriter'), ('xkb', 'il')]" gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.input-sources sources "$v" Removing Hebrew layout "manually" (that is through the Gnome configuration, not through a script) and adding it back (manually too) does not help against the bug. So, I can't type Hebrew anymore. Help!
