[Bug 1810234] [NEW] Not always possible in the nautilus list view to get the right mouse click menu of the current folder

2019-01-01 Thread Nick Sinik
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Release:18.04

$ apt-cache policy nautilus
nautilus:
  Installed: 1:3.26.4-0~ubuntu18.04.2
  Candidate: 1:3.26.4-0~ubuntu18.04.2
  Version table:
 *** 1:3.26.4-0~ubuntu18.04.2 500
500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-updates/main amd64
Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
 1:3.26.3-0ubuntu4 500
500 http://au.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/main amd64 Packages

If a folder is opened in the GNOME/nautilus list view it is not always possible
to get the right mouse click menu of the current folder because nautilus
selects a whole line instead of a file name and produced right click menu
belongs to a file in the list, not to the current folder.
If the current folder list is short enough then one can right click on the
empty space below the last line and that way can get the right click menu of
the current folder.
This problem is caused by nautilus selecting a whole line in the list view
instead of a file name in the list.

[Bug 1810222] [NEW] "Record a short screecast" creates 0-byte WEBM files

2019-01-01 Thread Dan Dascalescu
Public bug reported:

Fresh install of Ubuntu 18.04. When I press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+R, I see an
orange dot in the upper-right corner, and a new .webm files in ~/Videos.

Several problems:

1. There seems to be no actionable UI for this function. If I click the
orange dot, I don't see any sort of menu, such as to pause or stop the
recording.

2. The files is incorrectly named. The timestamp uses the DD-MM-
HH:MM:SS format, but the HH is 05:26 when it's 5:26pm (it should be
17:26).

3. After I press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+R, the orange dot disappears, but the
.webm file is empty.

What am I doing wrong?

[Bug 965921] Re: gnome-shell most keyboard shortcuts not working

2019-01-01 Thread LGB [Gábor Lénárt]
Still happens time to time, even with fresh 18.10 install. It's a
"miracle" that it's such an old bug, but still hits us :(

2019-01-01 Thread Michael Kuster
Public bug reported:

Since Ubuntu 18.04 a connected smartphone via usb is very, very, very
slow. If you want to copy some pictures from the smartphone to the
computer you have to wait minutes for just list and show the names of
the pictures. I tryed and tested this behaviour with Ubuntu 16.04 and
there is no such failure. With Ubuntu 16.04 the connected smartphone
works as expected, fast and reliable.

[Bug 1263049] Re: nautilus crashes on dropping text

2019-01-01 Thread StSav012
Unfortunately, I'm not using Ubuntu now anymore, preferring more
lightweight (and less user-friendly?) desktop environments. So, I don't
have a way to check the behaviour correctly. In XFCE, the “Dropped
Text.txt” file is created, as expected.
