[Bug 1826688] [NEW] GNOME Shell has graphical issue in Applications menu

2019-04-27 Thread PJ O
Public bug reported:

After installing an update for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, GNOME's App Launcher
screen faces graphical issues when scrolling. To reproduce this, simply
open the Application menu and scroll in the paginated list. If the bug
is present, the screen will fail to update completly; the animation wil
play through, but the icons will remain in place or "chopped off," it
seems the frame isn't completly refreshed? It's fixed after a few
seconds or by moving the mouse.

I'm using GNOME 3.28.2 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

I'm also using an Nvidia card for graphics (with drivers installed)

I attached a picture (Sorry that it isn't a screenshot!)

[Bug 1826056] Re: Desktop context: Keep aligned, Organize desktop by name missing in 19.04

2019-04-27 Thread C0m4r
Ubuntu 19.04 comes with gnome shell extension: "desktop icons". In
previous versions of Ubuntu desktop icons was provided by nautilus, but
new version of nautilus (3.32) lost desktop icons functionality.

Unfortunately looks like extension's author decided not to implement any
sorting/rearranging features:

[Bug 293311] Re: nautilus thumbnails files on a mounted NFS share

2019-04-27 Thread David Rosky
A real solution to this problem would be for Nautilus to have an Auto
mode for thumbnailing, where the actual bandwidth of the connection is
tested, and thumbnailing is turned on or off automatically depending on
the actual connection speed.

[Bug 293311] Re: nautilus thumbnails files on a mounted NFS share

2019-04-27 Thread David Rosky
Please do not remove thumbnails from NFS mounted folders. I have 1.5TB
of photos stored on a local NAS (local = same LAN) connected over a
1Gb/s ethernet connection. I access these through NFS and I am
absolutely dependent on having thumbnails available for those images.
With any modern local area network, wired or WiFi, access is plenty fast
to allow thumbnails with only minimal delay compared to files on the
same physical machine.

I don't mind if an option is added to opt out of thumbnails over NFS,
but if it is completely removed with no option, I will need to either
abandon nautilus, which I don't want to do, or allow thumbnailing on ALL
remote connections, which will be an absolute mess on slower connections
such as Google Drive.

Same would apply for SMB. NFS and SMB are used primarily on fast LANs
99% of the time. Please don't remove thumbnailing from NFS/SMB folders
and put the 1% use case above the 99% use case.

Thanks.

Also the lockscreen image is affected as well. Sometimes other parts of
the UI are as well like browser windows.

[Bug 860826] Re: Totem 3.0.1. Ubuntu 11.10. Full-screen slider bar is fully contracted, if the filename is too long

2019-04-27 Thread Paul White
Report filed against the old interface. In the new interface, filenames
appear at top of totem's window and do not affect the slider bar which
is at the bottom. Closing as report is no longer valid.

[Bug 1162925] Re: Totem shows wrong frame when pausing

2019-04-27 Thread Paul White
We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner.

Ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric) reached end-of-life on May 9, 2013.

Does anyone still see a problem related to the one that was reported
using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you
do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days
time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.

[Bug 1825665] Re: Cannot set 3440x1440 resolution for HP 34C external monitor (HDMI) on ubuntu-wayland

2019-04-27 Thread Luis Arias
Hi Sebastien,

Thanks for getting back to me. It's an issue that appeared many
releases ago related to a kernel update that unfortunately has not
gotten any attention. I will try to find some data on that and post it
here.

The end user effectively cannot select the 3440x1440 resolution in
gnome-settings because it is ot present.

[Bug 1826633] [NEW] default document text font on Disco is None

2019-04-27 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

On Ubuntu 19.04 (Disco), the default Document Text font after
installation is None. You can see this if you run gnome-tweaks and
select Fonts in the left sidebar.

As one consequence of this, messages in Geary are displayed in a serif
font by default, which doesn't look ideal. Changing the font to Sans
Regular fixes the problem.

** Affects: gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
