[Bug 1830637] [NEW] Keyboard layout LED stays on after first toggle
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When using two different keyboard layouts (English and Russian in my case) and setting xkb-options to use a keyboard LED to indicate the alternative layout ('grp_led:caps' in my case), in Gnome on Wayland session the LED turns on after the first time I toggle the layout, nad then stays on, no matter how many times or in which way I switch layouts. It's supposed to turn on on switching to Russian and then turn off on switching back to English. In Gnome on Xorg session, the LED works correctly, turning off when I switch back to the main layout. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add a second keyboard language/layout 2. Add 'grp_led:caps' or 'grp_led:scroll' to /org/gnome/desktop/input-sources/xkb-options in dconf editor 3. Switch layouts, the respective LED turns on 4. Switch layouts again, the LED stays on under Wayland, but turns off under Xorg ** Affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: New ** Tags: keyboard wayland xorg -- Keyboard layout LED stays on after first toggle https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830637 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1769206] [NEW] In admin panel "Sharing - Screen Sharing". Dialog box, (bottom "Network" part of it) says there is "No networks selected for sharing". (Nothing to select) Server don't detect actua
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Problem: In admin panel "Sharing - Screen Sharing" dialog, not able to activate Screen Sharing. The Screen Sharing dialog box, (bottom "Network" part of it) says there is "No networks selected for sharing". It should at least show "Wired Connection 1", as in fact the wired connection is working perfectly (the box has internet connection in and out, and I am able to connect to it using ssh). As the sharing dialog does not show any available networks to pick from, it is not possible to activate the sharing. Another problem indicator is that the desktop systray network icon does not show up, even if the box is connected to fully working wired ethernet connection, and internet is working in and out of the machine. Also, in admin panel "Network" configuration dialog, there is no visible config area for "Wired Connections". It appear as the computer has no network cards at all, only the VPN and Proxy settings are visible. * Possible related problem with drivers: I tried 'ubuntu-drivers devices' in order to find correct drivers for my graphic card. [Bug 1830422] [NEW] Long Gtk menu into appindicator1 cannot be scrolled: arrow bars are absent
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am using appindicator-1.0 in conjunction with Gtk+2.0 menu. Menu consist of constant items and many dynamically added items. If the screen pixel resolution is not so good as it must be then the last menu items are not visible. Ubuntu 16.04 automatically add top and bottom bars with "^" and "v" arrows to scroll menu when mouse pointer is over these bars. But in Linux Ubuntu 18.04 (and 19.04 too) such scrolling bars are not appearing. On the other hand menu scrolling is working fine anywhere into usual GTK window with menu bar (without using appindicator). Ubuntu 16.04 and Ubuntu 18.04 use the same 12.10.1 libappindicator version. Here is the test c program which illustrates the issue. It works fine in Linux Ubuntu 16.04 and has the described above problem in Linux 18.04: #include #include #define LOGO_PNG "/home/super/my-project/menu-test/logo.png" AppIndicator* c_indicator; GtkWidget* c_menu; void menu_quit_cb(GtkMenuItem* menuitem, gpointer user_data) { gtk_main_quit(); } int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { gtk_init(, ); int i; GtkWidget* item; char title[128]; c_menu = gtk_menu_new(); item = gtk_menu_item_new_with_label("Quit"); g_signal_connect(item, "activate", G_CALLBACK(menu_quit_cb), NULL); gtk_menu_shell_append(GTK_MENU_SHELL(c_menu), item); gtk_widget_show(item); gtk_menu_shell_append(GTK_MENU_SHELL(c_menu), gtk_separator_menu_item_new()); for (i = 1; i <= 100; ++i) { snprintf(title, sizeof(title), "Item #%03u", i); item = gtk_menu_item_new_with_label(title); gtk_menu_shell_append(GTK_MENU_SHELL(c_menu), item); gtk_widget_show(item); } // c_indicator = app_indicator_new("Menu Test", LOGO_PNG, APP_INDICATOR_CATEGORY_APPLICATION_STATUS); app_indicator_set_status(c_indicator, APP_INDICATOR_STATUS_ACTIVE); app_indicator_set_icon(c_indicator, LOGO_PNG); app_indicator_set_menu(c_indicator, GTK_MENU(c_menu)); gtk_main(); return 0; } ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: libappindicator1 12.10.1+18.04.20180322.1-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-50.54-generic 4.15.18 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-50-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7.6 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: ubuntu:GNOME Date: Fri May 24 21:15:59 2019 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-07-03 (325 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Release amd64 (20180426) SourcePackage: libappindicator UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic -- Long Gtk menu into appindicator1 cannot be scrolled: arrow bars are absent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1830422 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1830613] [NEW] Provide UI and API for customizing date/time formats
Public bug reported: Linux should be able to support customized date/time formats like Microsoft Windows can. It is a hair-pulling experience to try to get ISO 8601 date/time format implemented throughout a Linux desktop install. As mentioned in this Mozilla bug report at Comment 20 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1426907), developer Zibi Braniecki says, "Yes, we do more on Windows, than we do on Linux. The reason being that Windows provides UI and API for us to read customized date/time patterns for styles short/medium/long. Which means that we can fetch the *pattern* from the OS, and *localize* it using our own CLDR resources. This means, that if on Windows you'll tell us you want a date "{day} {month} {year}", and in Gecko you'll specify you want Polish language we'll present you a date "25 sierpnia 2018", which will fit properly into your UI localization. On the other hand on Linux, we do not have a way to retrieve a pattern, that we could then localize." This is terrible that Linux support for ISO 8601 date/time format is poor.
