It use different method to reboot.

But if it's a regression (once worked on 4.15), can you please perform a
kernel bisection?

[Bug 1848387] [NEW] dpkg error when triggers are activated

2019-10-16 Thread Jeremy Soller
Public bug reported:

The following message, or something like it, is output when an update to
appstream is done on 19.10:

dpkg: error: version '/usr/share/app-info/yaml /usr/share/app-info/icons' has ba
d syntax: version string has embedded spaces

This appears to be caused by this line in the appstream.postinst:

if dpkg --compare-versions "$2" ge-nl "0.12.8"; then

This gets called when the registered triggers are activated:

interest-noawait /usr/share/app-info/icons
interest-noawait /usr/share/app-info/yaml
interest-noawait /usr/share/app-info/xml

I recommend checking in the postinst if we are handling a trigger and
avoiding the dpkg version comparison

[Bug 1827314] Re: Ubuntu 19.04 Background and lockscreen image turns into white noise after sleep and wakeup

2019-10-16 Thread Pehkawn
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1809407 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809407

I experience the same issue. After suspend the lock screen and
background image is gone, leaving only a "white noise" (see attached
image). From what I can tell, this bug is purely aesthetical, and has no
practical implications. I can still log in and use my computer like
nothing happened.

I am far from any expert, but the description of [bug
#1809407](https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1809407) does not sound
entirely similar to what I experience and what OP describes, and the bug
might not be a duplicate.
