[Bug 1859468] [NEW] dialog windows spanning across dual monitors poorly

2020-01-14 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 19.10
Release:19.10

apt-cache policy xorg
xorg:
  Installed: 1:7.7+19ubuntu12
  Candidate: 1:7.7+19ubuntu12
  Version table:
 *** 1:7.7+19ubuntu12 500
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu eoan/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

the dialog windows are spanning across my two monitors.

1 open dialog for saving file
2 window opens and spans across the two monitors
3 user buttons open/cancel/save are hidden in the UI. The task bar on the left
side is covering/hiding the dialog window buttons

desired behavior
dialog windows fit INSIDE a single monitor UI

[Bug 1859173] Re: display

2020-01-14 Thread Daniel van Vugt
This is probably due to an old and unusual GPU:

I suggest you might have better luck if you plug in a graphics card to
this machine...

Interesting. I tested that version as well, and all the (similar)
crashing problems I had with the text editor Geany are gone, so the
update at least seems to help in some cases.

Hi folks,

I have now tested in the latest versions of both PyCharm (PyCharm 2019.3.1

Build #PY-193.5662.61) and IntelliJ (2019.3.1 Ultimate Edition Build

Happy to provide any further debug information if someone can tell me
what to do.

Cheers,

Solved.

Searching online, I found this:

chrome://flags/#hardware-media-key-handling

By disabling this flag, Rhythmbox started working as usual with the
media keys.

[Bug 1859587] [NEW] gimp instead of evince has priority to display pdf files

2020-01-14 Thread Fabien
Public bug reported:

It seems that because "/etc/mailcap" contains two lines for
"application/pdf", and gimp is ahead of evince, my mailer (alpine)
choses gimp automatically for displaying pdf files, which is always a
bad idea.

Fix is *not* to declare gimp for pdf files, at least not ahead of
evince…
