will automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

Re: [Bug 1860483] Re: [nouveau, GeForce 7300 LE] screen background overlaid with scan type artifact in red

2020-02-03 Thread Paul Collinsworth
Thanks. I'm still working on my (sda) install of 18.04.3; haven't
completely restored what I had on (sdb).

Fewer issues with either the operating system or applications failing to
respond, and very few events where I/O handlers have seemingly disappeared.

Still have minor issues with screen presentation; none of the
raster-type overlay in the desktop area though.

I'm going to try a re-install on the sdb drive after completing system
restoration on sda. May be able to rule drive corruption in or out at
that point.

Also considering replacing the Nvidia GeForce 7300 graphics card with
something a bit less on the obsolete side.

[Bug 1827428] Re: Mouse cursor left frozen copy of itself

2020-02-03 Thread Oliver
I'm also having this issue on 19.04. Only happens when i'm using 2
screens. the cursor is a duplicate of the real one, ie it hanges to the
text select cursor shape when i'm highlighting text, and it changes to
the hand-pointer when hovering over a hyperlink.

the duplicate goes away if i disconnect and reconnect one monitor.

I should note I have updated my graphics drivers using this ppa:
ppa:oibaf/graphics-drivers - before i did this, there was an unusable
stuttering mess of many cursors, again, only present when using 2
displays.

[Bug 1861743] [NEW] updates/app search does not load, only spins constantly

2020-02-03 Thread programmerplays
Public bug reported:

When I open GNOME Software, it won't show me any suggested packages. I
can't search for packages, it just constantly shows the buffering
symbol. Adding packages with snap or apt works just fine. This only
occured after I installed gitg after upgrading too 20.04 iirc.

Ubuntu Release:
20.04 Focal Fossa (development branch)

Gnome-software version:
3.35.2-0ubuntu1

I expected: be able to search and install programs.

What happened: It continued to show the buffer symbol.

[Bug 1861742] [NEW] [Feature request] add an empty text file template by default

2020-02-03 Thread ritalat
Public bug reported:

Currently the file manager does not provide a way to create new files
out of the box. The user has to manually touch a file to ~/Templates
using a terminal emulator.

This default behaviour can be frustrating especially to new users who
might not know about the touch command at all. Creating new text files
is a common operation and it should "just work" ootb without the user
having to do research on the whole GNOME template system.

2020-02-03 Thread florin
@lancillotto Sorry for the noob question, I am trying to install it, but
don't make it.

I did like the above .16 version, which worked, but this one does not.

tar xzf libmtp-libmtp-1-1-17.tar.gz
cd libmtp-libmtp-1-1-17/
./configure
bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

Should I have done something else? Thanks!

[Bug 1720262] Re: gnome-screenshot Actions don't work in Wayland

2020-02-03 Thread T . Häny
Still in Ubuntu 19.10 the two actions (Take a Screenshot of the Current
Window and Take a Screenshot of a Selected Area) are still disabled.

In which Ubuntu-Version this will be fixed?

[Bug 387957] Re: Improve Save As Dialog Box (focus issues)

2020-02-03 Thread Björn Regnell
I'm also hit by this daily and think that it should be fixed. Thanks
@phusen for the tip of the Alt+N shorcut! But even with the Alt+N
shortcut it is confusing that a highlighted field does not have focus.
And after Alt+N I still have to click the Save button with the mouse as
the Enter key now does not finish the dialog.

The general goal-level requirement from a usability perspective: "It
should be easy to use the save dialog both with mouse and keyboard
only."

[Bug 385597] Re: Rhytmbox don't show artist name of ogg stream

2020-02-03 Thread Paul White
Bug report won't expire due to bug watch
No reply to comment #3 asking if issue still exists
Further to comment #3 I'm closing this as the bug report is
over 10 years old and there is no sample file/URL available that
exhibits the problem.

[Bug 1861409] Re: searching for irc takes more than 10 minutes

2020-02-03 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Trying with 3.34.2 or now with the newer version that landed in focal
neither show the issue, could be some server/network error hit and not
handled correctly, difficult to say without more info, we need at least
the journal log
