[Bug 1863981] [NEW] espeak-ng cannot load mbrola language files
Public bug reported: I tried using all of the mbrola files named by espeak-ng --voices=de : Pty Language Age/Gender VoiceName File Other Languages 5 de --/M German gmw/de 6 de --/F german-mbrola-1mb/mb-de1 6 de --/M german-mbrola-2mb/mb-de2 6 de --/F german-mbrola-3mb/mb-de3 6 de --/M german-mbrola-4mb/mb-de4 6 de --/M german-mbrola-6mb/mb-de6 7 de --/F german-mbrola-5mb/mb-de5 7 de --/F german-mbrola-7mb/mb-de7 espeak-ng -vmb-de1 "Test" gives me: mbrola: FATAL ERROR : cannot find file /usr/share/mbrola/de1/de1 ! mbrowrap error: mbrola closed stderr and did not exit Error: Could not load the specified mbrola voice file. It does speak, though, seemingly using a default voice. /usr/share/mbrola does not exist. The files actually seem to reside in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/espeak-ng-data/voices/mb I doubt that I can solve this via a simple symbolic link because seemingly the expected directory structure is different: all mbrola files are in the mb directory; there are no subdirectories like /de/de1 or similar. [Bug 1863963] Re: PC freezed up frequently after resume from sleep.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Tags added: nvidia -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863963 Title: PC freezed up frequently after resume from sleep. [Bug 1863391] Re: GNOME fractional scaling: fullscreen video misbehaves
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: When scaling the desktop to e.g. 150%, fullscreen video does seem to trigger constant changes of the scaling factor: the system switches every 0.5s from 150% to 100% to 200% or things like those. [Bug 1853199] Re: Ctrl + c (copy) anywhere some times crashes gnome session
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: Copy text anwyhere (browser, terminal) crashes user session and shows login screen. It may take few login attempts to actually login back. I have HDMI Tv attached to a Shuttle pc with Intel graphics. Box is always ON but tv is ON amd OFF as needed. Every time I turn tv ON and try to do something and use ctrl + c it would restart gnome session. After login it seem to work fine and ctrl+c does not break anything. Re: [Bug 1860483] Re: screen background overlaid with scan type artifact in red
The problem started at opening. Log-in to Ubuntu and there it is. Return from terminal or application, where the screen is normal, and there it is, or rather, there it was. The "red scan type artifact", which covered the entire screen, has changed. The video problem now presents differently. I had sent in a screen shot of the artifact earlier, but that isn't the video artifact that shows up when I log in on my (now) secondary drive (drive "sdb"). I went into the system chassis yesterday and pulled the Nvidia GeForce7300 video card out completely and connected my monitor to the motherboard VGA connector. The video artifacts that I was seeing when I logged into my primary drive, drive "sda", haven't changed, but the artifacts as displayed when logging into sdb have. I've attached screenshots of the "new" artifacts. I've not looked at the open source to see what might differentiate the video data flow when there's a video card installed versus what happens with the mb video circuit.
