[Bug 1856516] Re: Excessive memory usage by gnome-shell in 19.10
Using a wrapper script for gnome-shell actually breaks things, because now systemd thinks the wrong process is sending ready signals (everything starts up fine, but then gets killed after 10 seconds once systemd decides its timed out). And the problem is that all the processes inherit their environment from gnome-shell; without code changes I can't limit the the tracing to *just* gnome-shell. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1856516 Title: Excessive memory usage by gnome-shell in 19.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1856516/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1864307] Re: Many apps have no icon in Software on Focal
There are two things which could be the cause for this: 1) The appstream-generator used for Focal is old, and there were quite a few fixes to find more icons and ignore apps without sufficient icon data in more recent releases. @laney will hopefully update the tool ;-) 2) GNOME Software has a bug which makes it always load stock icons for applications, even if they are actually not available on the system and GS should fall back to the cached icons. [Bug 1865076] [NEW] Fingerprint swipe to login doesn't work
Public bug reported: After enrolling my right index fingerprint to ElanTech Fingerprint Sensor, I am unable to login via fingerprint swipe. I am able to see the (very faint) option to swipe my finger under the password entry field, but when I swipe, nothing happens. I've tried swiping both directions, just touching the sensor like I was able to in Windows (I used to dual boot) and holding my finger down for a few seconds. There's no indication of whether the sensor read anything and it just didn't process, or if it's just not getting any info. [Bug 1864635] Re: "Steam Installer" not available in Software app since latest Steam update
Another possible solution could be to revert the Steam Installer AppStream file changes completely (keep just the http/https changes and appdata/metainfo file rename). The .desktop suffix in tag is not used anymore and the stock icon type is not good according to the appstream-util validator, but it made appstream-generator happy and everything worked fine (except launching Steam directly from the Software app, but that is a minor thing in my opinion). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1864635 Title: "Steam Installer" not available in Software app since latest Steam update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/steam/+bug/1864635/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
