[Bug 877371] Re: keymap at login screen is set to qwerty after upgrade

2020-04-13 Thread evils
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1871659 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871659

The issue here is that an upgrade caused the keymap used at the
login/lock screen to be changed without the user specifying such an
action.

bug 1871659 is that there is no way of specifying such an action at that
screen, which could help recover from this, but it is a separate issue.

[Bug 1870184] Re: Snap store not showing ubuntu repository apt apps inthe store

2020-04-13 Thread Mr Tamal Howlader
Naa it's it or miss .. sometimes it works in 344 and the other time it's
not same case with 345 .. on different installation different
scenarios...

First when the new came out Ubuntu gonna replace gnome-software with
snap store I thought it would be cool that it will get updated faster
 But now it feels trash

#Gonna switch to either ##Kubuntu or Manjaro KDE ..

[Bug 1871659] [NEW] there is no way to set the keymap / keyboard layout on the login screen

2020-04-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

While there is an accessibility menu on the login screen, there is no
way to set the keyboard layout at the login screen.

This is particularly annoying when an issue like bug 877371 occurs
or when multiple users with different layouts use the same device.

I have the same problem with my company's email which uses the Rackspace
Outlook 2016 Exchange service. Rackspace told me that they cannot change
the DH key to a value higher than 1024 bits (which I don't believe) and
they suggested that instead the company upgrades to some Office 365
service which supports a higher DH key size. So, at this moment I cannot
use my company's Exchange E-mail from Evolution as I could in the past.

I ran into this on the 10th, had to open a vty and run `gsettings set
org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen true` to get back in.
after installing updates that evening, and setting the previous setting
to `false`, and restarting (to apply updates to gnome-shell

Also, I can "workaround" it by moving the cursor to the bottom right, so it

But then on Pressing F11 (for fullscreen in Firefox / Youtube) the auto hidden
dock will reveal constantly and there will be a loss of performance, like if it

Thank you for the testing link.

This server supports weak Diffie-Hellman (DH) key exchange parameters.
This server does not support Forward Secrecy with the reference browsers.
This server supports TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1.

So, you are saying that unless the University upgrades on their end, I
cannot connect from 20.04, correct?

My University Account (NYU) uses Shibboleth. I was able to add that
account to Online Accounts in 19.10 but it fails with this error in
20.04.

Are you saying that the minimal level of crypto changed between 19.10
and 20.04?

2020-04-13 Thread Tom Reynolds
There is no easy way to gracefully handle weak crypto. It has been known
for more than five years that 1024 bit (or rather <2048 bit) DH primes
need to be considered weak and should not be used - https://weakdh.org/
- GnuTLS > 3.2 does the right thing in having services which still have
not taken action to use contemporary (non weak) crypto fail by default,
so that users will become aware of the fact they are (were) connecting
insecurely, and these services can be more easily identified and fixed.

In some cases, using clients (and software versions of client) which
support higher TLS protocol versions can work around this problem (if
remote servers support strong ciphers on higher TLS protocol versions;
example:
https://www.ssllabs.com/ssltest/analyze.html?d=mail.nhs.net=on
).

It *may* be possible to continue to allow for insecure connections by
setting the GnuTLS priority string to include LEGACY as per
https://gnutls.org/manual/html_node/Priority-Strings.html

On Ubuntu 20.04 beta, also freshly installed, I am unable to sync my

turning on calendar sync in gnome preferences) :

As you can see OwnCloud respond with a Bed Request when using a "GET"

Manually inputting full Caldav URI in Gnome Calendar works (and send PROPFIND).
Browsing

Nautilus works.

[Bug 1872475] [NEW] Wine programs in the dock don't get the orange circle when executed, but get duplicated at the bottom of the dock instead.

2020-04-13 Thread Rob Frohne
Public bug reported:

I really don't know whether to file this bug report with wine or with
gnome-shell, but it used to work, so I suspect it is a gnome-shell
thing.

How to duplicate it:
-Install a wine program, and put its icon in the gnome dock.
-Click on the wine program icon in the dock.
-An identical icon appears at the bottom of your list of running programs, with
an orange dot, but the original one has no orange dot to indicate it is running.

What should happen:
-No duplicate icon should be displayed at the bottom of your dock, and the
orange dot should appear beside the original icon.

See my screenshot included. The icon to look at is the LTSpice one, 11
from the top, and then find it also near the bottom of the dock with an
orange dot.

Thanks for your good work!

Rob

[Bug 1872453] [NEW] Snap Store does not show classic packages

2020-04-13 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug by AsciiWolf (asciiwolf):

Snap Store still does not show classic Ubuntu packages, only Snaps. This
should have been fixed with the latest snapd package that is currently
in proposed repo, however it seems that the new snapd build did not fix
this issue.

I have a latest Snap Store from latest/stable/ubuntu-20.04 and latest
snapd 2.44.3+20.04 from proposed repo.

[Bug 1715435] Re: Can't lock screen with keyboard shortcuts when using lightdm

2020-04-13 Thread Rocko
My Ubuntu 20.04 installation just did this - something changed the
org.gnome.desktop.lockdown disable-lock-screen to true and also the
blank screen to never (did an update do this?).

But there's nothing I can see in gnome-control-center to modify this
value, making this bug pretty obscure when it happens. Wouldn't a
setting in g-c-c make a lot of sense if you can actually disable the
screen lock completely?

[Bug 1871358] Re: Dock shows on all displays even when you don't want it to (because all displays are the same model of monitor)

2020-04-13 Thread Chris McCutcheon
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1866088 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1866088

@Sebastien Thank you for that info. Now I will know where to look when
playing with extensions in future.

I was looking in the wrong place for the defect. The issue is not in
the extension it's in the gnome-control-center.

I'll keep playing around. I've been using Linux for many years but I
develop Windows software for a living. This might be a good little side
project for me to start playing with Linux application development.

Thanks for all your help.

[Bug 1872441] [NEW] Switching to another channel page, then back on an installed snap shows the snap as not installed and some system snaps as uninstallable

2020-04-13 Thread AsciiWolf
Public bug reported:

When opening a details page for some snap that is already installed (for
example the Snap Store itself), then selecting another channel from the
Channels drop down menu, then selecting a channel from which the snap is
installed, the details page now behaves like the snap is not installed,
there is a "Install" button, the "Permissions" button disappears etc. It
also seems that for some system snaps (for example the GTK2 Common

[Bug 1734541] Re: encrypted home-directory is not unmounted on logout

2020-04-13 Thread dronus
Still an issue as of today 2020-04-13, for Ubuntu 18.04.

Please set this critical immediately, this is a strong security issue
for the use case of multiuser device!

Using a "guest" user to share your device with others is a quite common
use case. Everyone would expect that logging out and pass the device to
another person would benefit from a eCrypt FS user homdedir setup.

I myself usually log out and set my device to standby on a daily
routine. That has me left unprotected by a while now it seems. I usually
log out when taking the laptop to unsafe spaces like traveling,
conferences and events in public spaces etc. I had expected that logging
out would keep my data safe to some level.

As this is a regression too, many already adapted to logout-is-safe
behaviour.
