[Bug 33072] Re: Pulling AC plug suspends computer

2020-09-19 Thread Jan Smith
This happens consistently every time on my laptop running Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS.
I keep it running with the lid open and the AC power cable connected, when I
unplug the cable Ubuntu auto-suspends (battery is well over 90%). Extremely
annoying.

The power settings are:
* Automatic suspend when on battery power

[Bug 1895941] Re: Screen lock after some minutes while playing vidoes from mpv player.

2020-09-19 Thread Compiler
I don't want to try "probably not will be maintained" personl project
PPA as it says, "Purely for testing, will probably not maintain. Only
lightly tested for unintended consequences..".

But hope there will a fix from big players instead.

[Bug 1896337] [NEW] Removable Media settings don't remember your choices

2020-09-19 Thread Matteus Forelli
Public bug reported:

Hi,
The "Removable Media" section in Gnome Settings doesn't remember/respect the
applications you pick, and automatically falls back to the first option in the
list. This is repeatable on my desktop and laptop with 20.04.1 fully updated.
For instance if I pick Rhythmbox for CD Audio and close & re-open the settings,
it has changed to VLC, the first option available.
I've searched Google with no success for this issue, so I'm reporting it here.

2020-09-19 Thread Treviño
FYI, I've uploaded the fixed package to focal queue
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/focal/+queue?queue_state=1_text= it
will take some time for the SRU team to review this.

Once it's ready, you will be notified in bug to test it to confirm it
works (please do it, together with bug #1896332 to make the SRU process
[1] faster).

Meanwhile, you can try test packages from this PPA:

It also contains new gnome-shell (and yaru adaptations for that).

[Bug 1892440] Re: Shell text with wrong size in mutter 3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.2 (mostly on Nvidia)

2020-09-19 Thread Treviño
** Description changed:

+ [ Impact ]
+
+ GNOME Shell starts with a wrong text size
+
+
+ [ Test case ]
+
+ In a terminal run:
+ - Xephyr :2
+
+ In another one:
+ - env DISPLAY=:2 dbus-run-session gnome-shell --x11
+
+ The shell should run in the embedded window, with the correct text size,
+ running it again (without closing Xephyr window, but stopping the shell
+ execution) should not bigger than expected.
+
+ -- Other test case (hw dependant)
+
+ - Login, ensure that the Shell text size matches the configured one.
+
+
+ [ Regression potential ]
+
+ Initial UI scaling when fractional scaling is enabled is wrong.
+
+
+ [ Workaround ]
+
+ Run on startup:
+ - gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor \
+ $(gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor | cut -d' '
-f2)

The package mutter version (3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.2) for Ubuntu 20.04
causes small text in GNOME Shell menu with NVIDIA cards.

With a previous version (3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.1) all works fine. The problem
is after update to the (3.36.4-0ubuntu0.20.04.2).

[Bug 1726224] Re: wacom invisible mouse pointer in wayland

2020-09-19 Thread Maksim Yu.Semenov
I have Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS. Window interface is Wayland. And described
solution didn't work long. After half an hour cursor disappeared again.
So it is obviously just coincidence that it worked.

Here is detailed description of what I did before this bug happened:
1. First of all my device worked good. Pointer was visible when stylus was used.
2. I've installed chrome-remote-desktop and found that I can't log to X locally
anymore because some conflict between gnome and chrome-remote-desktop. (I used
https://remotedesktop.google.com/headless/ setup).
3. I've purged chrome-remote-desktop and found this bug. Pointer of mouse
became independent and stylus pointer isn't visible anymore in programs
(firefox for example) but visible on desktop as separate cursor or cross.
