Thanks for the video. Corruption of that type is usually a kernel

[Bug 1899089] [NEW] Ubuntu 20.04 file browser showing all zfs mounts explicitly in side-panel

2020-10-08 Thread Peter Goodall
Public bug reported:

I have installed Ubuntu 20.04 on zfs. I had previously had zfs datasets
mounted into my 18.04 system. Those mounts are all working in the new
system, but they are displaying as mounts in my file browser with
unmount buttons next to them. I certainly don't want this function. it
is also cluttering my display. It appears similar to Bug 1691908.

My zfs mounts are not removable volumes, they are not in fstab.

I was advised to report the output of `gio mount -li`:

```
Volume(0): efi
  Type: GUnixVolume
@Sebastien,
Thanks, but I am struggling to find a PID to report this against. So I
had to find related subject-matter - Bug 1691908 was the most relevant I
could locate. So what do I report this against? I don't really do Ubuntu
internals, so my knowledge of relevant subsystems is limited. It isn't
like Smalltalk where I can click on the offending item and drop into an
inspector.
`ubuntu-bug` requires a PID. '
`sudo gio mount -li ` output doesn't seem to help... The zfs mount-
points are not removable drives...
[Bug 1890141] Re: Can't fullscreen, or windows get automatically un-fullscreened, when using fractional scaling
2020-10-08 Thread laurenz baba
Yeah maybe i was a bit too early with my statement.
Everything works great with this extension, except from "real" OpenGl/ Vulkan
fullscreen applications.
For example any game (i tested Satisfactory and ROTTR) that i run in fullscreen
mode has the problem that the screen is only filled about one quarter with the
actual game, the rest is all black or sometimes just flickering stuff.
On the upside, when you really want to play a game like that, it doesn't clip
over the second screen anymore like it did with the extension disabled.
I have the same problem with Kodi, that is also a OpenGL application
iirc.
I mean you could turn on the extension everytime you start a game/
fullscreen application... But that is really inconvenient.
I can't imagine how so few people have this problem. Is the combination
of a HiDPI and FullHD monitor with fractional scaling enabled so rare
...?
At the first attempt the translations were not imported to LP, so I have
fixed a detail and uploaded 3.38.0-2build1 (no-change rebuild). Let's
[Bug 1877428] Re: Graphical glitches
2020-10-08 Thread Paul White
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to
look at all reported bugs in a timely manner.
This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important
for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can
learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this
bug as a bug in gnome-shell although Ubuntu developers may well decide
otherwise.
If this is still an issue then please execute the following command only
once, as it will automatically gather debugging information, in a
terminal:
apport-collect 1877428
When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu-
bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this
functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
[Bug 1898943] [NEW] dock and top bar blinking at fullscreen
2020-10-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:
The dock is flashing (opening and closing) when I have smart hide mode
enabled (Dash to Dock extension). The same phenomenon occurs when I use
the "Hide Top Bar" extension with hidden mode ...
The blinks occur with a certain pattern, which I believe is based on the
values of the extensions (pressure setting etc.) ... Anyway, it is a
problem that affects two different extensions at the same time. Usually
the problem starts when I use Firefox's fullscreen. Sometimes the dock
and the top bar work perfectly, but after a while they start to blink.
You can click on the icons, but you need to reach the correct timing. If
it blinks too fast, it becomes very difficult to use the dock in full
screen.
The problem happens only in some windows (which were used in fullscreen
mode) and do not reach other windows. It is resolved with the closing
and reopening of the program, but soon they reappear.
Also adding a gnome-shell task. This happens on 5.8.0-21-generic from
proposed too, and restarting gnome-shell stops the corruptions, so it's
possible this is a gnome issue.
