[Bug 1713650] Re: Can't Alt+drag windows at all any more
Gnome now differs from every single other window manager. I understand that alt+drag interferes with some former mac users' workflows, but really, we've been here for 20 years and they just arrived... why should we change our workflows to suit theirs? Can we please revert to the default, and make this a tick-box option upon installation, or in keyboard settings? (Ie. "Do you use . names of applications " or even better, put the option in those applications. Can anyone link to where Gnome made this decision? TLDR: it's super frustrating that Gnome now has a different default shortcut key from every single other window manager. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1713650 Title: Can't Alt+drag windows at all any more To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1713650/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 838381] Re: The cursor in active terminal window stops blinking after ten seconds.
I thought I would add the workaround I found which applies to Xubuntu 18.04 but possibly others: To make the cursor keep blinking in GTK-based applications (which includes gnome-terminal, xfce4-terminal, gedit, pidgin and many others): 1. Open Settings Editor from the Settings menu. 2. Select the xsettings "channel" on the left side of the interface. 3. Click New. 4. The name of the property needs to be /Gtk/CursorBlinkTimeout 5. Set it to be an integer property. 6. Specify a very large number (but less than 2 billion). 7. Click Save Here's hoping the GNOME group somehow ceases to exist in the near future. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/838381 Title: The cursor in active terminal window stops blinking after ten seconds.
