[Bug 1886345] Re: [i915][snb] Icons and text corrupted and/or missing

2021-02-05 Thread Druid
Corruption regressed to the point that system would become unresponsive
as the display flickered back and forth between an old and current
state. If the system monitor app was running you could see the plots
progress in an odd stop motion.

Tried a number of other distributions but kept getting corruption.

Reverted the system back to Ubuntu 18.04, which was the last release that
didn't have video corruption.
Have been running 18.04 for a week with no evidence of display issues.

[Bug 1882884] Re: FP Auth : Multi user Scenario

2021-02-05 Thread Treviño
Also gnome-shell is part of this game, however the way to handle this is
select the user to login first.

However, I've already prepared some work to get user identification
possible:
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/libfprint/fprintd/-/merge_requests/113

Work on the PAM module, GDM and gnome-shell are still required though

[Bug 1903986] Re: Ubuntu 20.04 freezes with remmina in full-screen

2021-02-05 Thread grofaty
Today happened again. I was working with remote desktop Remmina to
access my work-computer using Windows and suddenly mouse icon
disappeared and keyboard stopped responding.

This time background musing running on my Ubuntu host did not stop
playing, it looks like laptop did not completely freeze.

I was also able to recover (without hard reset):
1. Ctrl+Alt+F3 and get into console, logged in.
2. Search for remmina process: ps aux | grep remmina
3. Kill the remmina process: kill -9
4. Ctrl+Alt+F4 and I was back and desktop was responding normally. I could
start Remmina and now working without a problem.

I am attaching files requested in #22 post.
