Lately I have been using the controller with a wireless adapter (not

well. It would be nice if Ubuntu would ship this driver by default. Now
it must be manually installed from github.

[Bug 1918007] Re: This happens from time to time, gnome-shell creates large files in the var/crash directory.

2021-03-07 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

[Bug 1912246] Re: [nvidia] gnome-shell freezes randomly

2021-03-07 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks. That log is a little bit confusing because it starts on 7 Mar
and ends on 6 Mar. Clearly the time zone changed. Regardless, it looks
like the same problem again (with incorrect timestamp):

object is not ready -- were events handled properly?
Mar 06 20:44:52 gnome-shell[8104]: Window manager warning: MetaSyncRing: Sync
object is not ready -- were events handled properly?

Coincidentally, a fix has been proposed upstream that looks very
encouraging: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/1754

Once it is accepted into GNOME 40 it will also be backported to 3.38.

[Bug 1918014] Re: Switching application keyboard shortcuts not working

2021-03-07 Thread multip
Some additional information, it appears to affect only X-Server not Wayland.
I just tested it in Wayland and here alt+tab works correctly and also the
touchpad is back to normal.

@benshalom do you use also X11 as default? Can you confirm it affects
only X11 and works correctly on Wayland?

[Bug 1918059] [NEW] Core snap apps are removable when there is an update available for them

2021-03-07 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug by AsciiWolf (asciiwolf):

When there is an update available (and displayed on the Updates tab) for
some of the core (protected) Snaps, a "Remove" button appears on that
Snap entry on "Installed" tab. It happened recently for me on a new,
fully updated Ubuntu 20.04 installation when there was a "snapd" update
available on the Updates tab. The "Remove" button did disappear after
updating that Snap using snap-store.

[Bug 1918055] [NEW] blurry resolution after resume on second screen

2021-03-07 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have connected a second screen to my laptop. After resume, sometimes
the resolution on this screen is blurry and the open windows don't fit
to the screen in fullscreen mode (they are bigger). Maybe a wrong
resolution.

1)
Description:Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Release:20.04

3)
I expected to happen that the resolution is correct.

4)
The resolution isn't correct and blurry.

Reconnection of the external display solves the problem.

I can second this exact issue.

Perhaps related to this, my touchpad settings (tab to click and edge scrolling)
are not working.
Changing them gnome preferences panel has no effect.

[Bug 1918052] [NEW] Typing new paragraph in greek polytonic problem with capital letters

2021-03-07 Thread Andreas Baxevanidis
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS focal, gnome shell 3.36.8, OS 64bts, wayland, pkgname
unknown-was preinstalled, upgraded from Ubuntu 19.10 Ermine Eoan Release amd64
(20191017) type GTK) While typing a new paragraph in LibreOffice writer (am an
author of historical books) whem the first capital letter is an O or H and
sometimes with A, it does not accept intonation. Plus if it happens the
second's word letter to be a capital one, it does not accept intonation either.
Now this is very inconvenient because after completing the text , while
reviewing it, try to correct this inconsistency am fecing the same problem. So
have to spend a lot of time trying to salve this problem. Don't know if it is a
bug but for ny work it really is a serious obstacle.

[Bug 1917926] Re: Window focus issues in 3.38.3-3ubuntu1

2021-03-07 Thread Giorgio Marinelli
This is not the only strange bahviour. The configuration of the input
devices under Gnome is completely broken (eg: not all the keyboard
keystrokes works and the natural scrolling option for the touchpad does
not work).

I don't know at all how gnome-shell/mutter/xorg/wayland/libinput works,
but I feel that the solution for
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1690719 might
be related to the problem.

I also disabled gdm3/wayland (WaylandEnable=false in
/etc/gdm3/custom.conf), and after logging in I see the following errors
from gnome-shell:

---
gnome-shell[1411]: value "nan" of type 'gfloat' is invalid or out of range for
property 'x' of type 'gfloat'
gnome-shell[1411]: value "nan" of type 'gfloat' is invalid or out of range for
property 'y' of type 'gfloat'
gnome-shell[1411]: JS ERROR: Exception in callback for signal: shown: Error:
Wrong type number; float expected. But it's out of range: -Infinity
