[Bug 1922298] [NEW] Activities panel on wrong display
Public bug reported: The activities panel is showing up on the wrong display. Selecting the "primary display" as 3 in the display settings puts the top bar on display 3 , but the activities bar on screen 2. Screenshot attached Similarly, selecting primary display = 2 then activities bar ends up on 1 primary display = 1 then activities bar ends up on 3 I'm hoping this is just an off by one error somewhere. I think gnome-shell is the correct package. [Bug 1872796] Re: gnome-shell animations are noticeably stuttery when the Ubuntu extensions are enabled
Seems the rendering performance penalty of desktop-icons-ng on my machine is roughly 10%. That's not terrible and especially considering desktop-icons-ng is implemented as a full-screen GtkWindow (not a Clutter widget) in a separate process(!) If you need better performance then just remove the extension via the 'Extensions' app. I'm really not sure what can be done about compositing it any faster though. Ensure that annotations and still loaded and that it's possible to add new ones, that searching for text and selecting is also working. * Regression potential The update has fixes around display scaling on x11 so verify that the rendering is still correct there while unscaled and with scaling enabled.
