[Bug 1924832] [NEW] evince output displays wrong in Adobe Reader

2021-04-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

wget https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040s2.pdf
launch evince
open f1040s2.pdf
Fill in example numbers in lines 4 and 10.
Save As... test-1040s2.pdf

On the same Ubuntu-18.04 machine, in both xpdf and evince, all of test-
1040s2.pdf displays as expected, specifically including the form
entries.

Copied f1040s2.pdf to a (virtual) machine running MS-Windows-10, and opened in
Adobe Reader DC 2021.001.20142 .
Expected: display correctly, specifically the form entries in lines 4 and 10.
Actual: no form entries show up in line 4 or 10, as seen in
tax-pdf-adobe-reader-w10.png file from screenshot (lines 4 & 10 circled in red
with the gimp).

[Bug 1317249] Re: Tool for export to keepass2 database

2021-04-16 Thread Paolo "UnixMan" Saggese
To date, this is the only thing which I have found which is able to dump
the contents of gnome-keyring:

https://github.com/mnagel/gnome-keyring-dumper

better than nothing, but not exactly what's requested.

I believe that the ability to import AND export its contents from/to a
file in a few different standard formats (CSV, XML, etc) is an essential
feature for any password manager.

[Bug 1886059] Re: gnome-shell crashed with assertion failure "!xcb_xlib_threads_sequence_lost" [xcb_io.c:260]

2021-04-16 Thread Eric Van Horn
This issue appears to be resolved for me.

I used `apt purge gnome-shell-extensions` to remove gnome-shell-
extensions and noticed that 'ubuntu-appindicat...@ubuntu.com', 'ubuntu-
d...@ubuntu.com', and 'desktop-icons@csoriano' remained in /usr/share
/gnome-shell/extensions/. I manually removed these extensions,
reinstalled gnome-shell-extensions, and rebooted my machine, and I have
not had a crash since. Note that I did not remove any extensions from
.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions, although there is still a
discrepancy between the installed extensions and what is listed in
`gsettings get org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions` and `gsettings get
org.gnome.shell disabled-extensions`. Should this be corrected by just
using `gsettings set`, or should this be updated automatically?

If there is any more information that I can provide to help troubleshoot
this problem for others with this same problem, please let me know.

Thanks!

2021-04-16 Thread Eric Van Horn
In my original bug report (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/gnome-shell/+bug/1924625) I was asked to remove many extensions;
however, many of those extensions are ones that I installed at one time
but have since removed and they do not appear under ~/.local/share
/gnome-shell/extensions/.

>From https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
shell/+bug/1924625/+attachment/5488541/+files/GsettingsChanges.txt it is
clear that something is still reporting them as being installed. Does
this indicate that there are remnants of these extensions somewhere else
on my machine?

[Bug 1923311] Re: nautilus crash when creating symlink

2021-04-16 Thread Christian Rauch
After installing that dbgsym package, I still do not get a backtrace. It
just exits with "[Inferior 1 (process 116937) exited with code 01]" so
maybe it does not crash but the failed assertion makes it just quit?
Also, there is nothing in "/var/crash" which is another indicator that
the process just exits, but does not crash.

I found the upstream issue at
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/1303. There it is
reported that this is a Wayland-only issue and I can indeed verify that
this does not happen on X11.

Weird, well you can get the dbgsym packages from launchpad on

[Bug 1923311] Re: nautilus crash when creating symlink

2021-04-16 Thread Christian Rauch
I have the ddebs sources added:
deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com focal main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com focal-updates main restricted universe multiverse
deb http://ddebs.ubuntu.com focal-proposed main restricted universe multiverse

But the dbgsym version does not match the package version:

$ apt list nautilus -a
nautilus/focal-updates,now 1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1 amd64 [installiert]
nautilus/focal 1:3.36.1.1-1ubuntu2 amd64

$ apt list nautilus-dbgsym -a
nautilus-dbgsym/focal 1:3.36.1.1-1ubuntu2 amd64

After nautilus has been updated to version "1:3.36.3-0ubuntu1" the
-dbgsym package stayed at version "1:3.36.1.1-1ubuntu2". So I cannot
install "nautilus-dbgsym" and run gdb with the debug symbols to check
where it crashes.

Anyway, this issue is pretty easy reproducible on my side and occurs
every time.

[Bug 1924251] Re: Embedded browser display corruption under Wayland on Pi desktop

2021-04-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The same bug occurs in weston so that's some good news that it's not a
mutter bug.

The console output mentions GDK is unable to create a GL context and is
falling back to glReadPixels. And that's exactly what the corruption
looks like -- an incorrect stride or pixel format with glReadPixels.
That makes it a GDK bug.

[Bug 1924679] Re: Intel Nuc install. Icons go blank randomly, nothing opens. Need to remove power to reboot.

2021-04-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

^^^ also bug 1924606.

If anyone experiencing this crash can identify which extension(s) are
causing it then that would help us a lot.

[Bug 1924679] [NEW] Intel Nuc install. Icons go blank randomly, nothing opens. Need to remove power to reboot.

2021-04-16 Thread Mark Sedhom
Public bug reported:

Hi Guys,

I've installed Ubuntu on my Intel Nuc, and have had issues with the OS
