[Bug 1912060] Re: [SRU] caribou: Segfault (as regression of xorg CVE-2020-25712 fix) cause security issue for cinnamon
All done - Groovy patch does work. How to reproduce bug pre-patch: 1) Lock screen 2) Navigate to advanced characters in virtual keyboard 3) Press the euro sign and cinnamon-screensaver crashes. In the screenshot I post you can see the clear Xorg error it posts. After patch, no issues what so ever. Since this is easier than I thought to reproduce I'll spin up focal test too. ** Attachment added: "Screenshot from 2021-05-17 11-02-37.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/caribou/+bug/1912060/+attachment/5498256/+files/Screenshot%20from%202021-05-17%2011-02-37.png ** Tags added: verification-done-groovy -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to caribou in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1912060 Title: [SRU] caribou: Segfault (as regression of xorg CVE-2020-25712 fix) cause security issue for cinnamon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/caribou/+bug/1912060/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1915681] Re: Error in freeze/thaw accounting, GNOME Shell crashed with signal 5, resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/windowManager.js:1384
Oops. Seems I was tricked by (b) in comment #3 again. The current crashes being reported can't be attributed to "freeze/thaw" accounting because errors.ubuntu.com doesn't look at enough of the stack trace to confirm that. We only know that some people are experiencing crashes in g_log(), which is itself correct because error level and higher messages are meant to cause an abort(). We would need more concrete evidence of a crash in a current Ubuntu release to pursue this further. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1915681 Title: Error in freeze/thaw accounting, GNOME Shell crashed with signal 5, resource:///org/gnome/shell/ui/windowManager.js:1384 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1915681/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
