[Bug 1938352] Re: [wayland] gnome-shell elements (dock, top bar, on-screen keyboard) becomes unresponsive to touch / mouse while windows & desktop are still responsive to touch input
Thanks. After experiencing this issue 2-3 times last night, I realized this may possibly be related to tablet screen rotation (not sure if the gnome-shell logs delve into this, tried looking and didn't see anything that seemed relevant) - Generally when I've noticed this bug I was using the device in portrait mode. Screen orientation done via physically rotating device + using internal sensor. My setup/experience in this last encounter was: - Had 3rd party gnome shell extensions (including wandering pixel) disabled beforehand - only "Desktop Icons NG" enabled. - Turned off bluetooth as well, to try and dispell earlier ideas of it being related to the bluetooth keyboard connection. Steps: - Rotated screen to portrait, had firefox and a gnome files window open. - Started using the device, might've rotated back to landscape once or twice quickly to see what happens. - Observed when issue happens (while in portrait mode), just beforehand active window I had open (gnome files) suddenly moved maybe 50-100px up, like it was correcting for a orientation change even though I was felt like I was just using device normally laid down in portrait mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1938352 Title: [wayland] gnome-shell elements (dock, top bar, on-screen keyboard) becomes unresponsive to touch / mouse while windows & desktop are still responsive to touch input To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/1938352/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1777708] Re: Desktop briefly becomes unresponsive when receiving a keypress from a different device/mapping than the last keypress (in Xorg)
I'm here to say that I'm having the same issue. Until this evening, I was using Debian 10 with KDE, but I installed Ubuntu 20.04 a few hours ago. I use a laptop with a external keyboard connected on it and my laptop have a numeric keyboard and my external keyboard don't, so I always use the laptop keyboard to insert numbers. However, each time I swap the keyboard, my computer frozen. Also, I have a mouse with several buttons and two of them are configured as "PgUp" and "PgDn" because I find it more practical over there. However, unfortunately, I can't use it properly because the computer crashes every time I press a button. However, I think it's worth mentioning that mouse buttons that belong to the mouse (like click and scroll) don't have this problem. In short, if I switch keyboards, whether it's laptop, external or mouse buttons, my computer freezes. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/108 Title: Desktop briefly becomes unresponsive when receiving a keypress from a different device/mapping than the last keypress (in Xorg) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-shell/+bug/108/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1927149] Re: Irrelevant translatable strings
In the upstream gnome-software issue I learned that Fedora ships metainfo{its, loc} via their libappstream-glib-devel package. So could Debian/Ubuntu move those files from appstream to libappstream-glib-dev? Well, don't think so — see the attached file for the reason. It makes little sense to pass release descriptions, which upstream decided to not translate, to the downstream translators. The problem has now been reduced via the MR I mentioned (which was merged), but the descriptions for the latest few releases are still there. So as regards the POT file for snap-store-desktop I currently see no other feasible solution than simply making sure that appstream's metainfo{its, loc} files are not available when generating it. By e.g. renaming them temporarily or something. ** Attachment added: "appstream-reverse-build-depends.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-software/+bug/1927149/+attachment/5515406/+files/appstream-reverse-build-depends.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927149 Title: Irrelevant translatable strings To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/appstream/+bug/1927149/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1938683] [NEW] dash number-of-windows indicator not cleared for thunderbird
Public bug reported: The "number of windows" indicator in the Ubuntu Dash (the orange dots to the left of the app icon) is not cleared for Thunderbird, when a new e-mail is written in a new window. Ultimately, the indicators stay visible even after Thunderbird is closed completely, and it's no longer possible to launch thunderbird by left-clicking of the dash icon (middle-click works okay). Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Thunderbird. There is one orange dot to the left of the thunderbird icon. 2. Write an e-mail and close the e-mail window 3. Observe that there are now two orange dots to the left of the thunderbird icon. Please see the screenshot for more details.
