[Bug 1951352] [NEW] Crash on Focal 'std::bad_alloc' due to package dependency

2021-11-17 Thread Ingo Reimann
Public bug reported:

Hi,

after update of

libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37:amd64 (2.34.1-1~deb10u1) über (2.32.4-1~deb10u1)

evolution (3.36.5-0ubuntu1) crashes with

user@host:~$ evolution
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
  what():  std::bad_alloc
Aborted

you may downgrade libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 and the problem disappears.
Unfortunately, other packages depend on that, so you`ll loose at least -

[Bug 1871538] Re: dbus timeout-ed during an upgrade, taking services down including gdm

2021-11-17 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
FYI triggered again for me due to unattended upgrades.
The time in the journal when things go down matches the
unpack/configuee/install phase of
- accountsservice:amd64 0.6.55-0ubuntu12~20.04.5
- libaccountsservice0:amd64 0.6.55-0ubuntu12~20.04.5
- dbus:amd64 1.12.16-2ubuntu2.1

I - again - had the usual suspect entries:

systemd[1]: Starting Daily apt upgrade and clean activities...
dbus-daemon[2266]: [system] Reloaded configuration
dbus-daemon[2266]: Unknown group "power" in message bus configuration file
systemd[1]: Reloading.
systemd[1]: NetworkManager.service: Unexpected error response from
GetNameOwner(): Connection terminated

I didn't see anything in the log we didn't have before, but for
completeness I'm attaching journal of the issue and a few hours before
it

[Bug 1949262] Re: Power Savings doesn't turn monitor off on NUC8i5INH

2021-11-17 Thread Martin Heckenbach
I run Ubuntu Budgie 21.10. Since two days before turning off display
after idle went well (DPMS mode).

Since yesterday turning off display doesn't work anymore. The display
goes black for a second but then it comes back again. However, the
screen is frozen (no repainting) as long as I use the desktop, e.g.
keyboard, mouse movements.

I guess that this is related to a recent update of libmutter. There has
been an update (see /var/log/apt/history.log):

Start-Date: 2021-11-17 04:50:38
Commandline: /usr/bin/apt-get -o quiet=1 dist-upgrade -y -o
APT::Get::Show-Upgraded=true
Upgrade: libmutter-8-0:amd64 (40.5-1ubuntu2, 40.5-1ubuntu3~21.10.1),
mutter-common:amd64 (40.5-1ubuntu2, 40.5-1ubuntu3~21.10.1),
accountsservice:amd64 (0.6.55-0ubuntu14, 0.6.55-0ubuntu14.1), netplan.io:amd64
(0.103-0ubuntu7, 0.103-0ubuntu7.1), libaccountsservice0:amd64
(0.6.55-0ubuntu14, 0.6.55-0ubuntu14.1), libnetplan0:amd64 (0.103-0ubuntu7,
0.103-0ubuntu7.1)
End-Date: 2021-11-17 04:50:41

Package: mutter-common
Version: 40.5-1ubuntu3~21.10.1

Package: libmutter-8-0
Version: 40.5-1ubuntu3~21.10.1

Kernel is:
Linux xxx 5.13.0-21-generic #21-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 19 08:59:28 UTC 2021 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Mesa is:
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics 655 (CFL GT3)
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.6 (Core Profile) Mesa 21.2.2
OpenGL version string: 4.6 (Compatibility Profile) Mesa 21.2.2
OpenGL ES profile version string: OpenGL ES 3.2 Mesa 21.2.2

System is also an Intel NUC (NUC8I3) but I don't think that it is
limited to this setup.

I had a simular problem earlier with Ubuntu 21.04 and Kodi media center
(see also https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues/19479). I have closed this
issue a few days before since I though it was finally solved. This time
there is no output when I watch the events by using xev.

[Bug 1883174] Re: [SRU]Some (or all) desktop icons are missing

2021-11-17 Thread Bin Li
** Description changed:

- OS: Ubuntu 20.04
- GNOME: 3.36.2
- Extension: 3.36.2
+ [Impact]

- Sometimes, some icons in my Desktop folder just don't appear on the
- desktop. The missing icons aren't invisible, it's like they're not in
- the folder. Clicking on the empty space where they should be does
- nothing. Mousing over the empty space does nothing. See attached
- screenshot. As you can see, there are many missing.
+ * When user edit and save a file in Desktop, the file icon will disappear,
and the file is still there, it's bad experience for user.
+ * Sometimes, some icons in my Desktop folder just don't appear on the
desktop. The missing icons aren't invisible, it's like they're not in the
folder. Clicking on the empty space where they should be does nothing. Mousing
over the empty space does nothing. See attached screenshot. As you can see,
there are many missing.

  Not consistently reproducible, but frequent.

- This isn't great info, I know. Let me know what else I can provide.
+ [Test Plan]
+
+ * Edit and save a file in Desktop.
+$ echo "abc" > ~/a.log
+$ gedit ~/a.log
+
+ [Where problems could occur]
+
+ * It is low risk, cause I just check the fileItem in source code before
+ call it, or else it prompt 'fileItem is undefined'.

[Bug 1931494] Re: Wrong scaling

2021-11-17 Thread Davide
The problem described above occurs on a 24 inch monitor with a
resolution of 1920x1200 pixels (16:10), if I use a 19 inch monitor with
a resolution of 1280x1024 (5:4) pixels the documents are shown with the
correct scale. I found the same bug on three different PCs.
