[Bug 1950925] Re: alt-tab doesnt work anymore after upgrade to 21.10

2021-11-22 Thread Joe
Hi all,

This also affects me, starting with the update to 21.04 and continuing
with the 21.10 update. alt&tab does nothing, super&tab switches between
applications. I haven't installed any Gnome extensions.

~$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-applications
['Tab']

~$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings switch-windows
['Tab']

Thank you for the work!!

-Joe

2021-11-22 Thread Daniel van Vugt
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1949572 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1949572

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921,
reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

[Bug 1951879] [NEW] System freezes after right clicking on a dock icon

2021-11-22 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

The problem can be reproduced as follow in ubuntu 21.10:
- run jedit (which was insalled with sudo apt install jedit)
- jedit starts and is working fine, but a right click on its icon in the dock
freezes the system
- it is still possible to log into the system using ssh and I noticed that
gnome-shell is using 100% of a CPU.
- the system does not recover without shutting it down and restarting it
- the problem could be reproduced on a lenovo laptop as well as in a VM

[Bug 1951878] Re: "gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:5653 drawable is not a native X11 window" in Wayland session

2021-11-22 Thread Angel D. Segarra
* I found out how to repro.

Ubuntu 21.10 on Wayland session
mutter 40.5-1ubuntu3~21.10.1

If I leave any gtk apps open e.g. gnome-terminal, evince, Files open,
and then open Google Chrome with the flags to enable wayland support

--enable-features=UseOzonePlatform --ozone-platform=wayland

Then any gtk app that was open outputs the following message to journal
after any UI interaction, like switching tabs, opening context menu,
etc.

gnome-terminal-[2393]: ../../../../../gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:5653
drawable is not a native X11 window

evince[3213]: ../../../../../gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:5653 drawable is
not a native X11 window

This persists until each individual app is restarted.

[Bug 1951878] [NEW] "gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:5653 drawable is not a native X11 window" in Wayland session

2021-11-22 Thread Angel D. Segarra
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 21.10 on Wayland session
mutter 40.5-1ubuntu3~21.10.1

My apologies if this does not belong in mutter but because it happens in
multiple applications, it's my best guess.

This is a weird bug because I don't know what causes it but it happens
consistently after normal usage which for me means several times leaving
the laptop idle and unlocking.

If I leave gnome-terminal and/or evince open, eventually any UI action
like switching from multiple tabs, opening context menu etc will output
the following to journal

gnome-terminal-[2393]: ../../../../../gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:5653
drawable is not a native X11 window

evince[3213]: ../../../../../gdk/x11/gdkwindow-x11.c:5653 drawable is
not a native X11 window

I suspect this may happen with other gtk apps as well. This persists
until each individual app is restarted.

[Bug 1951830] [NEW] Low Disk Space is too late

2021-11-22 Thread Tero Gusto
Public bug reported:

With today's bandwidth, downloading 1 GB doesn't take long, so you could
end up running out of space only seconds after the "Low Disk Space"
warning pops up, since the thresholds are pretty tight, with less than
95% and less than 1 GB.

/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/housekeeping/free-percent-notify
95%

/org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/housekeeping/free-size-gb-no-notify
1 GB

Suggested solution:

1. Change these values to 85% and 10 GB
2. Make them available through the GUI under "Notifications", and add "Change
thresholds under Settings > Notifications" under the "Low Disk Space" warning
message window
