[Bug 1639531] Re: GCC compiles programs to shared object instead of executable, preventing GUI file managers from executing programs
This isn't a bug. Ubuntu has setup GCC with "pie" flag enabled for some unknown reason, and this causes executable output to be tagged as shared library. Use "-no-pie" with GCC when compiling. If using Qt Creator / QMake add this to your project file unix:QMAKE_LFLAGS += -no-pie All will work fine after that, and your system will see your local GCC compiled executables tagged as "executable", and Nautilus or any other file browser will be able to run it via click as usual. [Bug 1948010] Re: photo comment changed in "binary comment"
I'm french as well. I agree with you. Nowadays, if I close and open Shotwell again, the comment appear normally under the photo and in the extended informations panel. But they become "binary comment" as soon I open the comment window again (F3). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to shotwell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1948010 Title: photo comment changed in "binary comment" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1948010/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1953547] Re: Screen does not lock when suspended
Ok. I found the solution here. https://discourse.ubuntubudgie.org/t/lockscreen-not-working-after- update-to-21-10/5394/16 By adding this to the startup application it seems to work: #!/bin/bash if ps ax | grep -v grep | grep gnome-screensaver > /dev/null then echo "gnome-screensaver is not running" echo "starting gnome-screensaver ..." pkill -9 -f '/usr/bin/gjs /usr/share/gnome-shell/org.gnome.ScreenSaver' sleep 3 gnome-screensaver else echo "gnome-screensaver already running" exit fi Thank you very much for your time and sorry for the trouble. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1953547 Title: Screen does not lock when suspended To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1953547/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1948010] Re: photo comment changed in "binary comment"
I do have the same issue. I find out this happens systematicaly when I use accentuated characters in a Comment. I am french so this is quite often ! When I close Shotwell and reopen it, the Comment is good, with accents. But the metadata of the picture still says "binary comment". Strange because I activated the option to write metadata in the picture. Is there a link with the fact that Title begins with lang="x-default" in the metadata of the picture even if Shotwell doesn't show that ? If you need more details, please just ask.
