It looks like the Ubuntu fix/workaround in gnome-shell (layout-Try-to- allocate-before-getting-size-of-tracke.patch) can be dropped starting in GNOME 42. [Bug 1956235] [NEW] Pointer Location (which uses Ctrl key) conflicts with other Ctrl-based shortcuts
You have been subscribed to a public bug: When activating Pointer Location function, I cannot use any other Ctrl- based shortcuts. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, Ctrl+X, etc. just stop working because Pointer Location is fired up once Ctrl is pressed. I think that shortcuts should work as follows: shortcut bound commands should be activated after keys are released. (BTW, don't know whether it's OK to write here but I've never had such issues with Windows OS, because no shortcuts interrupt one another there and it's very important nowadays because shortcuts help saving one's valuable time). [Bug 1956248] [NEW] I get two characters in Activities when I press one key for the first key I press...
Public bug reported: If I click the Activities in the upper right hand corner of the screen, then do NOT click in the search bar and begin to type, I get two of whatever character I hit. At first I thought it was due to my keyboard wearing out, but it happens on multiple computers, and whatever key I type, even infrequently used ones. If I click in the search bar before I type, then the characters are not duplicated. If I then backspace over the single character that was correctly displayed in the search bar and type another character, that character is doubled. Bounce keys will not eliminate this either. I started noticing doubling characters a couple of weeks (approximately) ago. I didn't start to suspect the real reason until recently. Thanks for working on this for all of us!
