Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Tags added: jammy ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971424 Title: gnome shell crashed with segfault at 20 ip error 4 in libmutter-10.so.0.0.0 after suspend (deep) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mutter/+bug/1971424/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1969934] Re: Update evolution-data-server to 3.44.1
Hello Jeremy, or anyone else affected, Accepted evolution-data-server into jammy-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-data- server/3.44.1-0ubuntu1 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed- jammy to verification-done-jammy. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification- failed-jammy. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in advance for helping! N.B. [Bug 1971487] [NEW] Screen position and settings lost during KVM switching or Super-P
You have been subscribed to a public bug: On a machine with multiple (3) monitors, I'm able to setup the order & positioning of the displays, and indicate the primary display. However, some of the time, if I toggle mode with Super-P key combo, returning to the same mode, the display order is lost, the primary display setting is lost. Open windows end up on the wrong screen. The same behaviour is observed, some of the time, when using a KVM switch, switching the displays to a different machine. On switching the KVM back to the machine, the display order, positioning and primary display settings are lost and have to be reset. Sometimes, the display order, positioning and primary display setting survive a KVM switch or a super-P mode toggle. Gnome-shell/mutter/ubuntu should maintain the display positioning, order, and primary display setting. In mode setting or KVM switching, there are noticeable delays as the monitors re-awaken themselves and communicate their EDID's, geometry, and connection topology (daisy-chained DP monitors). ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bot-comment -- Screen position and settings lost during KVM switching or Super-P https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971487 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1871869] Re: Nautilus copy task status is not accurate.
Ubuntu 20.04 here. At the very least the user should be presented with progress information when attempting to cleanly eject the USB stick! In Windows and MacOS the data transfer progress is actually what one expects - a reality-based depiction of the data being transferred - which when it says it's completed, is actually completed. In Ubuntu (all Linux?) you get this data transfer progress information which is more of a lie than the truth. And this in a PC OS which is supposed to be intuitive for the average PC user ... or else why bother with most of the GUI if to see something as rudimentary as this you have to start executing terminal commands!? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871869 Title: Nautilus copy task status is not accurate. [Bug 1969512] Re: Totem unable to play video: "The specified movie could not be found"
I have encountered the issue and have a fix for it: 1- Install VLC and worry about nothing. 2- get gstreamer1.0-vaapi_1.16.2-2_amd64.deb (from 20.04) and install it (it's a downgrade) it will complain upon installation but it will work. Re: [Bug 1971144] Re: Black screen after login.
The three added lines to the /etc/environment file did not make a difference. I tried both "Ubuntu" and "Ubuntu on Xorg" logins. I was connected through a KVM to the monitor however, because I am sharing a monitor, mouse and keyboard with other machines. So, I plugged a monitor in directly (as well as a separate keyboard and mouse) and now I am able to log in normally using either the "Ubuntu" or "Ubuntu on Xorg" logins. I removed the three lines from the environment file again and login still works. So it looks like 22.04 just does not like my KVM switch. The KVM switch is a CKLau (CKLau-64HUA-UK). [Bug 1969512] Re: Totem unable to play video: "The specified movie could not be found"
I'm pretty sure this is not a Totem issue, but rather a GStreamer issue. [Bug 1971338] [NEW] Activities overview / switching workspaces runs on low framerate (30fps) on NVIDIA + Wayland
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1970291 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1970291 Public bug reported: (Bug report can also be found on https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2247) Details: - Ubuntu 22.04 LTS - GNOME Shell 42.0 - Bug happens on Wayland only - Dell XPS with i9-9980HK (using the GTX 1650 mobile, since gnome runs very slow on integrated graphics) - NVIDIA driver version 510.60.02 - Using internal monitor (4k) + two external 4k monitors Summary: The activity overview / the process of switching workspaces runs at half the normal framerate (30fps) when running NVIDIA on Wayland. Steps to reproduce: - Run Wayland and NVIDIA - Open activity overview or switch workspaces - Lament the framerate What I expected to happen: I expect the overview and workspace switching process to run at the framerate that matches the monitor refresh rate (60Hz).
