[Bug 1971610] Re: Launcher icon distinction for snap and apt (or more)
** Description changed: If some software is installed as a snap and as a package, then search feature will show two icons without any distinction between them. The same text, the same icon, there is no context menu info. I think there should be at least something like: when the mouse cursor - is over the icon (or the icon is active), below the search input path to - executable file should display. + is over the icon (or the icon is active), the path to the executable + file should display below the search input. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1971610 Title: Launcher icon distinction for snap and apt (or more) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1971610/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1972059] [NEW] One screen does not come back from lock
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have 2 screen (Dell). Since having upgraded to 22.04, one of them struggles to come back after a lock. Sometimes takes a few seconds, sometimes it is ok and sometimes it takes longer. I have found that if I do Ctrl-Alt-F1... the screen comes back. I have a DP and HDMI cable and tried to switch them around, it is always the same screen: a Dell U2415 UltraSharp 24. Never happened with any other version since about 18.04. [Bug 1972080] [NEW] gdm has incomplete dependency
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Do not think this is hardware dependent, but I'm using an HPE MicroServer Gen10 Plus. I installed the server edition of 22.04. Post-Installation, I added some desktop environments. After logging in, these are working fine. However on the gdm login entry and password entry screens I had no mouse pointer icon. A semi-opaque white square tracked the mouse movements. My reading suggested that gdm defaults to using the cursor icon theme provided by the adwaita-icon-theme package. I discovered this theme comes in two sizes, a basic, smaller package installed automatically and a larger "full" package. $ apt list 'adwaita-icon-theme*' Listing... Done adwaita-icon-theme/jammy,now 41.0-1ubuntu1 all [installed, automatic] adwaita-icon-theme-full/jammy,now 41.0-1ubuntu1 all [installed] $ The gdm mouse pointer appears and disappears with installation and removal of the package "adwaita-icon-theme-full". Either gdm's dependencies should include the "full" package OR the appropriate mouse pointer icons should be moved from the full to the basic "adwaita-icon- theme" package. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gdm has incomplete dependency https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1972080 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1927100] Re: Slow file dialogs, open and save
Confirming that 1. I noticed no regression in clean, fully-updated Ubuntu VMs over 48h (periodic file browser operations and open-file dialogs in gtk apps, looped `gio info trash:///` in terminal). Tested standard Ubuntu and Ubuntu MATE (per the original report here). 2. I did NOT experience the bug in Mint on -proposed under the same conditions that caused it on unpatched gvfs over the prior handful of days. I again noticed no regression Robie--I think this covers the proposal that you outlined, so I'll retag as verification-done-focal per the instructions in Chris's comment. Hopefully that's the correct action ** Tags removed: verification-needed-focal ** Tags added: verification-done-focal -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927100 Title: Slow file dialogs, open and save To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/1927100/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1969896] Re: Evince Document Viewer(42.0) does not remember last page in 22.04
Running APT evince 42.1-3 on stock Ubuntu 22.04/GNOME 42.0/Wayland. My issue is Evince opening in a tiny window every time it's fired off; this deployment was upgraded from 21.10, which didn't suffer from such issue. I attach below the output from `journalctl -f` while starting up Evince, which clearly shows AppArmor violations. I thus attempted the approach from https://askubuntu.com/a/886011/145568 . When running with `aa-complain evince`, Evince behaves properly; I accepted `aa-logprof`'s suggestion to grant /usr/bin/evince [owner /run/user/1000/at-spi/bus rw,]. Unfortunately as soon as I reinstate `aa-enforce evince`, the tiny window issue re-appears. (Note: at first I Ignored /usr/sbin/cups-browsed [capability sys_nice,] because I thought it was unrelated; I tried to grant it but this still doesn't solve the issue). ** Attachment added: "Evince 42.1-3 AppArmor debugging.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1969896/+attachment/5587685/+files/Evince%2042.1-3%20AppArmor%20debugging.txt ** Summary changed: - Evince Document Viewer(42.0) does not remember last page in 22.04 + Evince Document Viewer(42.0) does not remember last page in 22.04 and opens in a tiny window when launched -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1969896 Title: Evince Document Viewer(42.0) does not remember last page in 22.04 and opens in a tiny window when launched To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1969896/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
