[Bug 1973827] Re: Laptop freezes when recovering from suspend / sleep mode
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Tags added: resume suspend-resume ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973827 Title: Laptop freezes when recovering from suspend / sleep mode To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1973827/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1871262] Re: gnome-shell freezes/crashes with meta_window_set_stack_position_no_sync: assertion 'window->stack_position >= 0' failed
It appears in meta_window_set_stack_position_no_sync that: g_return_if_fail (window->stack_position >= 0); is non-fatal and has been that way for almost 10 years. This means whatever freezes or crashes you are experiencing are happening somewhere else. Everyone please follow the instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Responses#Missing_a_crash_report_or_having_a_.crash_attachment and open new bugs with your findings. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Changed in: mutter (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1871262 Title: gnome-shell freezes/crashes with meta_window_set_stack_position_no_sync: assertion 'window->stack_position >= 0' failed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mutter/+bug/1871262/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Ubuntu 22.04, gnome-shell 42.0-2ubuntu1 When unplugging an external monitor connected via USB-C to my Thinkpad P14s, the entire UI session crashes. [Bug 1973660] Re: Login screen not refreshing properly on vSphere
One thing that comes to mind is to check the VMs hardware configuration. The amount of memory available to the VM will affect the amount of memory that can be dedicated to the graphics display. In my Workstation, the recommended minimum memory is 2 GB for my Ubuntu 20.04 guest - 2 virtual processors (1 core per processor) - graphics display will default to that currently configured for the host system (2560 x 1600 in my case) If I reconfigure the VM with only 1 GB of memory, the desktop logon screen only displays a part of the full gdm3 desktop logon screen. Try increasing the VMs virtual memory or use a specific display monitor resolution that works within the smaller virtual memory in use. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973660 Title: Login screen not refreshing properly on vSphere To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1973660/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1972766] Re: Changing default mounting options causes root owner
I am beyond my troubles with this issue and only compassionately posting this issue to help others. With some careful thought, I will share this issue with gnome nautilus team. It seems logical that one should be able to right click on a drive located on the sidebar thinggy. or a drive located in "Other locations" Right click, automount (obviously it would be for the current user). Perhaps a server would not like this mounted for everyone with sensitive drives.. but then again.. you would not automount such sensitive drives. However, you might point to them and they might point to you. I hope it gets resolved. Auto-mount is essential for recent-file-lists to work properly. [Bug 1973474] Re: Rename "Pin to Dash" to "Pin to Dock"
@Daniel: If you don't agree, what would you prefer? I have already mentioned two suggestions to address the inconsistency. On 2022-05-17 05:03, Daniel van Vugt wrote: > * Regular users are less likely to understand "pinned" as much as > "favourites". This is not about "Pinned" vs. "Favorites". It's about "Pin/Pinned" vs. "Add/Added" and "Dash" vs. "Dock". My (latest) idea is to accept "Pin to Dock" as a minimum change given the current code. Another possible solution would be to keep the 22.04 solution, i.e. use the original Ubuntu terms all over also going forward. > * Power users may have no dock, only a dash, and so the existing > wording is correct. Yes, for those who choose a GNOME session. My concern is the Ubuntu sessions. * It's a patch we would have to maintain. Something should be done. Getting rid of the the inconsistent terminology, in one way or another, is not a wishlist request.
