[Bug 1982560] Re: Mouse lag/stutter (missed frames) in Wayland sessions

2022-12-23 Thread Andreas Hoornstra
Hi Daniel and Francesco, neither of the two options given seem to work
in my case. Hardware: Dell XPS Plus 9320 (i7 1260P, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD,
4K+ 60Hz 500 nit LCD). Software: Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. If more information
is needed, feel free to ask. I think I'll switch back to X11 and maybe
try Touchégg to still get gesture support, as X11 works a lot smoother.

[Bug 2000409] [NEW] totem crashes on startup (assert !xcb_xlib_unknown_req_in_deq) in _XReply because XInitThreads is not called early enough by libx11 (patch included)

2022-12-23 Thread xtknight
Public bug reported:

Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 22.10
Release:22.10
Codename: kinetic

totem 43.0-2ubuntu1
proprietary nvidia-driver-525 525.60.11-0ubuntu0.22.10.1
libx11-6 2:1.8.1-2

Totem crashes (most of the time) when opening a video file. When it does
crash, it crashes before playing the video at all.

It doesn't crash often when being run under gdb, profilers, or other
utilities that may slow down execution. That indicated it may be a
threading issue or race condition, and after digging deeper the issue is
evident from the assert message.

[xcb] Unknown sequence number while processing queue
[xcb] Most likely this is a multi-threaded client and XInitThreads has not
been called
  [xcb] Aborting, sorry about that.

A similar issue happened in SDL, where XInitThreads was *supposed* to be
called but wasn't called early enough, specifically by the NVIDIA libGL
implementation which I also happen to be using.

  https://github.com/libsdl-org/SDL-1.2/issues/753

(Attempted to use apport to report this, but for some reason it doesn't
want to upload or show me the report. I've included the gdb stack trace
here.)

[Bug 1949340] Re: [upstream] Saving downloads or pages is difficult because of unfocused file chooser dialog

2022-12-23 Thread Olivier
Hello,
also impacted here :)
Ubuntu 22.04 + a few different Window Manager (my main is i3wm, and here is the
initial investigation: https://github.com/i3/i3/issues/5059)
Programs affected by the issue are Firefox and Chromium.

On this thread a temporary workaround has been found for Firefox while waiting
for the fix
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1968887
set the `widget.use-xdg-desktop-portal.file-picker` to `0` in the
`about:config` in Firefox.

Thanks in advance for the work :)
Cheers

[Bug 1994485] Re: Suspend screen bug Gnome and Gnome with video card AMD RX6500XT

2022-12-23 Thread greenmandd
With different AMD CPU`s (Ryzon family 36000XT, 3800XT, 3900X, 5600X)
and B450 and B550 chipsets i am getting the same issue when i lock the
screen. The interesting thing is that with Intel CPU (i5-7500) and
motherboard chipset (H270), this issue is not present. I was able to
wake up the PC from idle without any problems.
