There is no "snapd tracker". It's the "snap run" code that moves itself
to a new cgroup before setting up the sandbox, dropping privileges, and
executing the confined application. At that point, it has no permission
to talk to systemd.

It's basically working like "systemd-run --scope" would: it sets up the
environment appropriately and then lets the app take over.

Oh wow, I think I just managed to reproduce this on my Iris laptop - in
a fresh session with Xwayland on demand. That and comment 45 points to a
race condition in the FF code regarding switching between composited and
non-composited X11.

2023-03-28 Thread Robert Mader
Since this was reported for a device running the Crocus Mesa driver in
situations where implicit drm modifiers are most likely used (Xwayland,

[Bug 1987976]

2023-03-28 Thread Vishal Singh Panesar
[Firefox 109]
If I am not mistaken:
1. it is consistently happening (i.e., completely black right after after
boot), and
2. when closed for the first time, and reopened, it opens and asks whether to
restore previous session or not, and
3. I always close Firefox before shutting down, so point 2 should not be
applicable

[Bug 2013119] [NEW] [lunar] High contrast icons remain after disabling setting and exiting session

2023-03-28 Thread Amin Bandali
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1. from gnome-control-center, enable Accessibility > Seeing > High Contrast;
2. exit the session (logout or power off);
3. open a new session by logging in;
4. from gnome-control-center, disable Accessibility > Seeing > High Contrast.

Cycling this setting should result in non-symbolic/non-highcontrast
icons being used again. This works as expected on kinetic, but not on
lunar.

On both kinetic and lunar, gnome-control-center correctly toggles
org.gnome.desktop.a11y.interface high-contrast, so I'm inclined to think
this bug is not in gnome-control-center but rather might be in gnome-
shell itself.

[Bug 2013107] Re: [lunar] GNOME does not display high contrast app icons

2023-03-28 Thread Amin Bandali
Also, it seems that on lunar, enabling High Contrast results in
symbolic/highcontrast icons from /usr/share/icons/HighContrast and/or
/usr/share/icons/Adwaita being used; whereas on kinetic, enabling High
Contrast uses the symbolic icons from /usr/share/icons/Yaru (I believe
this would be the expected behaviour). So, indeed a regression in lunar.

[Bug 2011806] Re: [lunar] Snaps don't launch due to cgroup issue

2023-03-28 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
I still have an issue. Not sure if it is related.

When clicking the Firefox icon in the dock, a completely black window
opens. Then I can close it and try again, and the second time it works
as expected. This repeats itself in each session.

[Bug 2013116] [NEW] xdg-desktop-portal-gnome 44 causes delays in non-GNOME desktops

2023-03-28 Thread Jeremy Bícha
Public bug reported:

Test Case
-

- Install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome 44.beta
- Log out, then log into a non-GNOME desktop like MATE
- Open an app that uses portals, like the Firefox Snap
- From the app, open the Open dialog

What Happens

Nothing for 2 minutes or however long the service timeout takes.
After that initial timeout, the filechooser dialogs open like normal.

Other Info
--
This is a regression compared to xdg-desktop-portal-gnome 43.
My understanding is that xdg-desktop-portal currently attempts to load the
portal backends in alphabetical order. By coincidence, this happens to do what
we would expect (gnome, then gtk, kde, lxqt, wlr).
It is expected that systems with multiple desktop environments installed will
have multiple portal backends installed. These backends should work in any of
the desktops. (For instance, maybe MATE users want to have the GTK 4.10 icon
view filechooser for their Flatpak/Snap web browser.)

[Bug 2013115] Re: Bluetooth slider needs toggling two times to disconnect to device

2023-03-28 Thread Heather Ellsworth
** Description changed:

  OS: 23.04
  gnome-control-center: 44.0-1ubuntu3
  bluez: 5.66-0ubuntu1

I use a common bose QC45 headset daily and if I want to disconnect the
device, I need to click the toggle slider twice to actually get the
headset to disconnect (I hear confirmation of this in the headset).

+ On the first click, there are no journalctl logs. On the second click
+ that actually disconnects the device, I see the expected:
+
+ Mar 28 11:21:39 fenrir obexd[5665]: DISCONNECT(0x1), (0xff)
+ Mar 28 11:21:39 fenrir obexd[5665]: DISCONNECT(0x1), Success(0x20)
+ Mar 28 11:21:39 fenrir obexd[5665]: disconnected: Transport got disconnected
+
I would expect to only have to click the slider once to disconnect from
  the device.

In fact the translations missing at in the classic menubar displayed and
come from rhythmbox-plugin-alternative-toolbar, ui/altmenubar.ui isn't
listed in po/POTFILES.in but that doesn't seem to be a recent change, is
that menubar meant to be displayed by default or is that my local
