I think you want to turn "Dim Screen" off instead.

[Bug 2015800] [NEW] Blank screen after inactivity when set to Never

2023-04-10 Thread Heather Ellsworth
Public bug reported:

OS: 23.04
g-c-c: 44.0-1ubuntu4

My laptop is plugged into the charger and indicates that it is charging.
In gnome-control-center, I have the "Screen Blank" setting set to Never.

Also, "Automatic Suspend" is set to only happen when on battery power.
So perhaps even though the battery charger icon indicates it's charging,
maybe g-c-c thinks it's not?

[Bug 2015768] [NEW] Application Window Not Active/Highlighted Automatically when Running from Gnome Shell

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

As per my thread on askubuntu,

window-not-active-highlighted-when-running-from

1) farr@farr-RedmiBook:~$ lsb_release -rd
No LSB modules are available.
Description:Ubuntu Lunar Lobster (development branch)
Release:23.04

On Lunar Lobster Beta build, if you run apps from the gnome shell /
search, the app is not active/highlighted automatically. It will not be
on top of other app window.

Example: Running terminal application from the search. When the terminal
window loaded, you can't directly type on the terminal. Need to click on
the icon first to activate the window.

Uploaded the video to streamable, but it will expire in a day.

[Bug 2011837] Re: Nvidia with Wayland or Xorg issue

2023-04-10 Thread Luis Alvarado
Just updating. This is fixed. On Beta with Update April 10 there is no
issue and here is the list of other things fixed that I did not
mentioned but just noticed:

1. Rebooting after installing from USB no longer freezes before rebooting.
2. Nvidia drivers are now installed properly which includes nvidia settings
working correctly.
3. Changing to Xorg and disabling Wayland no longer freezes the system on boot.
4. Changing resolution no longer causes a black screen in a random way I was
not able to assess.
5. Waiting for the suspend to kick in no longer freezes computer if you try to
move the mouse or keyboard.
6. I installed 5 times already today without putting any kernel settings and it
worked properly.
7. Context many now shows complete instead of only 2 or 3 options.

Now errors

8. Updating from Nvidia 525 to 530, if secure boot is disabled or
enabled it will freeze during dpkg process and stop the installation. I
can try to do dpkg --configure -a but it freezes during building initial
module for 6.2.0-19-generic. This I will create a bug report for.

[Bug 2015647] Crash report cannot be processed

2023-04-10 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

no debug symbol package found for libnvidia-gl-525
no debug symbol package found for libnvidia-gl-510

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

[Bug 1979096] Re: gnome-shell search can't launch apps if dock auto-hide is enabled

2023-04-10 Thread Merci
Running Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS x86_64 I noticed the bug only happens when:

- Non-fractional scale is set to 200%
- Dock set to auto-hide
- Dock position is "left"

If either one condition isn't met, searched items function as expected.

[Bug 2015760] [NEW] Accessibility is much worse in GNOME apps that have switched to GTK4

2023-04-10 Thread Jeremy Bícha
Public bug reported:

Test Case
-
From Ubuntu 23.04
Open the Settings app (gnome-control-center)
In the left sidebar, click Accessibility
Click Seeing. Turn on Screen Reader
Use the up and down arrow keys to navigate the list of other Seeing options.

What Happens

Only the first item in each list is read. (In this case, just High Contrast and
Screen Reader but not items like Reduce Animation.)

Other Info
--
There are several other issues with GTK4 apps. For instance, Epiphany has
switched to GTK4 with the GNOME 44 release. The webview is now no longer
accessible.

Workaround
--
It is recommended that people who depend on the Screen Reader use Ubuntu 22.04
LTS until these issues are fixed.

[Bug 1969566] Re: Default to Xorg on NVIDIA-only systems

2023-04-10 Thread Dimitrij Mijoski
On a laptop with Nvidia + Intel GPU that works in hybrid mode (BIOS set
to hybrid, nvidia-settings set to on-demand), X.Org is still considered
the default. The menu on the gear icon shows "Ubuntu" and "Ubuntu on
Wayland" which means X.Org is the default. This is contradictory to what
the patch above says.

OS: 22.04
gdm3: 42.0-1ubuntu7.22.04.1
Nvidia driver: 525.105.17
