[Bug 2018555] [NEW] Nautilus rendering is broken if GTK_THEME env variable exists

2023-05-04 Thread Thomas Debesse
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 22.10, nautilus rendering is broken as soon as GTK_THEME
environment exists, and there are some other components of GNOME that
sets it at desktop launch (for example the Desktop may set it as
GTK_THEME=Adwaita:dark).

I have found no GTK_THEME value to make nautilus render properly, even
the empty string breaks nautilus.

How to reproduce:

```
killall nautilus
GTK_THEME=
nautilus
```

Then try to select some icons, selected icons will not be displayed as
selected.

[Bug 1971558] Re: dropbox menu icon often replaced with three dots under Jammy

2023-05-04 Thread Richard Trinkner
@Marco: I edited the appIndicator.js file on my machine to reflect your
edit. So far (after 30 minutes of using my laptop), the Dropbox icon
remains present and its menu functions normally. I tested closing my
laptop to suspend and then reopening it, and the icon continues to
display as expected. I'll update here if the icon disappears to three
dots again after a longer trial period.

[Bug 2018539] [NEW] File selector extremely slow

2023-05-04 Thread Hugo Squelch
Public bug reported:

When you try to upload/download a file in an application (e.g. Firefox,
Signal, etc) the file selector that opens is extremely slow to appear,
search and change directory.

Often times, if I try to search for a file in it, I have to wait 10 or
more second before the letters I typed appear, and most of the time the
last letter I pressed when typing, will appear before the rest of what I
wrote, meaning I have to wait for my query to be deleted before I re-
type it again.

This has only just started since upgrading to Ubuntu 23.04. I noticed
that Nautilus has been faster in general since the update, but in the
file selector specifically, it's become unusable.

Hello everyone, so I updated 2 days ago from 20.04 to 22.04, then to 22.10, and
lastly to 23.04. After which I am also experiencing this problem. I do not have
any of the apps mentioned above like anydesk. But I do have that weird issue

[Bug 2018523] Re: nautilus crashes while searching

2023-05-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To
help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps:

1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run:
ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash
Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug.

2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where
ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine.
Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please
send the links to us.

Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are
unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security
risk for yourself.

[Bug 2012388] Re: X11 window at top-right of the screen is invisible and steals mouse clicks

2023-05-04 Thread Luis Alvarado
It might be me going crazy (just in case). But I am getting the feeling
the invisible box sometimes grows downwards, taking more space so even
if you drag windows down, you can not click them unless you drag them to
the left side of the screen. It also grows in a specific rectangular
way. What I mean with this is that, when dragging windows for example
you can not drag them in a certain part of the window (because of the
ghost window) but any other part to the left or right will work. Here is
an image to give you an idea:

https://imgur.com/a/e5UjluM

Inside the red, I can not drag either the telegram app or sublime in the
background, but if I move the mouse over to the right or left I can
drag/click again.

[Bug 2016914] Re: gsd-smartcard: segfault on startup

2023-05-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
It sounds like some part of the system has crashed. To help us find the
cause of the crash please follow these steps:

[Bug 2018468] [NEW] Can't scan with Ricoh SP220SNw on ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS

2023-05-04 Thread altadeos
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I'm a user of Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS and I have a bug.

I have a Ricoh SP220SNw and I can't use it's scan function.
The printer is using ethernet connection with fixed IP address.

I tried with USB cable but simple-scan doesn't detect it.

When I launch simple-scan the scanner of my printer with ethernet
connection is detected.

I have 2 possibilities but no one is working:
- ESCL 220SNw-DB8340 on escl:https://192.168.1.26:443
- eSCL 220SNw-DB8340 on airscan:e0:220SNw-DB8340

When I try to scan I have a message on the printer screen but nothing happens :
"Numérisation (ESCL)".
After this the only thing I can do is to unplug the printer of the electricity
for few seconds.

How can I help to solve this bug ?
Thanks for your help.

[Bug 2018455] [NEW] gnome-shell exits after screen lock / unlock & login segfault libmutter-12.so.0.0.0 in Ubuntu 23.04 on Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen10

2023-05-04 Thread Andrey Arapov
Public bug reported:

The issue is happening 9 out of 10 times.
It is hard to get a crash dump in /var/crash during this error though, but I
found one from few days ago. Looks like should be relevant.

I've reported it, see OOPS ID: b68253a2-ea4c-11ed-af33-fa163e55efd0

Laptop: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 10, model 21CB007WCK

To reproduce:
1. Win+L to lock the session
2. Screen turns black as expected
3. Login back to your session
4. Welcome to the new & clean session... all unsaved work is lost!
5. see gnome-shell segfault in libmutter-12.so in dmesg

`ubuntu-bug` command again.
