[Bug 1969530] Re: gjs-console error on gnome-extension prefs (Ubuntu 22.04)
I also see this in my system, Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS. Can anyone assist to resolve this issue. I installed Ubuntu Server a few days ago. I noticed it was console only, so I installed gnome-desktop via apt. After rebooting I noticed my network-manager was missing from the desktop. I also noticed snap cannot update via the GUI. [Bug 2039992] [NEW] Mystery box on lock screen with a green arrow
Public bug reported: For the last couple days (I have only had this laptop for a couple days, I installed first 22.04 then 23.10, I have only noticed this behavior since moving to 23.10) when I open my laptop screen after closing the lid, the login screen sometimes has a strange light gray box at the bottom with a green arrow pointing down. It looks like there is supposed to be text to the right of the arrow, like it is a notification or something, but there is no text. Usually (I *think* 100% of the time) when I enter my password after seeing the green arrow I have a specific notification waiting for me, saying the "DBX database" (this is something to do with secure boot, it is apparently legitimate) needs to be updated, if I successfully click on this notification before it goes away (it's pretty quick) it opens firmware-updater and asks about updating the DBXes. It is possible the green arrow is the firmware-updater/DBX notification *trying* to display, but the text is not displaying. In case the DBX notification is the repro for the bug, I will hold off on updating the DBX database until I find out whether you need more information than is currently attached. [Bug 2039989] [NEW] Old "Activities" menu still visible in "set desktop" preview
Public bug reported: Steps - Enter Nautilus file browser - Right-click a PNG - Say "Set as Background" A preview will be shown (see attachment) of what the desktop pattern will look like. In the upper left, there is an "Activities" menu. However between 23.04 and 23.10 the "Activities" menu was replaced with a weird wide "pill" icon. [Bug 2039801] Re: Ubuntu 23.10, locate pointer not working
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected ** Description changed: I have just upgraded to Ubuntu 23.10 (Mantic Minotaur), going through the regular process of settling in with the new features and so forth, I realised that the 'locate pointer' is not working as expected. When the focus is on a screen element (like this text field that I am entering information into) I can press the left ctrl button and the border will flash around the element/text field/button etcetera. (I have made a screen cast, if I can I will upload it) Previously when pressing the left ctrl button the mouse pointer would be shown with a circular pulsing image (like a something dropping into calm water). I have read several forums and have looked specifically how to set the locate pointer option, I have set it in accessibility->pointing & clicking->Locate Pointer, also via cli with "gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface locate-pointer true" and using the gnome tweaks gui. None of these things work.
