[Bug 2069548] Re: machine reset all time

2024-06-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report. Next time the machine resets, let it boot up
again and then run:

  journalctl -b-1 > prevboot.txt

and attach the resulting text file here.

[Bug 2069506] Re: laggy windows espicially on web browser edge and VScode

2024-06-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Thanks for the bug report. Please start by removing any locally
installed extensions:

  cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/
  rm -rf extensions

and then log in again. If the problem persists after that then while it
is happening please run:

  journalctl -b0 > journal.txt
  ps -e -o pid,pcpu,comm --sort -pcpu | head -20 > tops.txt

and attach the resulting text files here.

[Bug 2069470] Re: 2nd Monitor is Visible On Lock screen.

2024-06-16 Thread Daniel van Vugt
The lock/unlock sequence can be broken by buggy gnome-shell extensions
crashing when they get told to deactivate/reactivate, so please start by
removing any local extensions:

  cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/
  rm -rf extensions

and then log in again.

[Bug 2069470] [NEW] 2nd Monitor is Visible On Lock screen.

2024-06-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm currenlty using a Laptop Dell XPS 15 9520 with an Nvidia GPU.
Using a USB Type-C Hub - Model: HD292-Gray. It requires 2 USB-C ports to be use
at the same time to be able to use 2 external monitors.

The Issue Only Happens at Work when I'm using this HUB.
At Home I have no issues using dual monitors with a Single USB C hub that's
capable of outputing two monitors via 1 usb port.

ISSUE:

If PC is lock, and remains lock for a few minutes, then when moving mouse or
pressing keys to wakeup the 2nd monitor is visible.
1 Monitor has the lockscreen waiting for password for the machine to be unlock.
But 2nd Monitor is completly visible.

This issue only happens when using this hub with 2 usb c ports.

Due to the delayed nature of X errors, they could both be the same bug
2062377. It's possible that's the only real crash here.

There are two separate issues here, and both seem to result in an int3:

[Bug 2069532] [NEW] GIMP 2.10 crashes when copying and pasting pixels

2024-06-16 Thread Damian Yerrick
Public bug reported:

I was copying and pasting a thin (152 by 2 pixels) rectangular area in a
small (160 by 144 pixels) image in GIMP 2.10.36 on Xubuntu 24.04 on a
Lenovo ThinkPad T450 laptop with an Intel Core i5-5300U CPU and 8 GB of
RAM. I got a crash. After restoring the session and repeating the copy
and paste, I got the same crash.

To reproduce:

1. In GIMP, create a new image 160 by 144 pixels
2. Choose Rectangle Select tool (press r)
3. Zoom in for the following steps
4. Drag a rectangle with upper left corner (4, 134), width 152 pixels, height 2
pixels
5. Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V

I expected the image to bee based onto a new floating selection; instead
I got a crash.
