[Bug 906081] Re: Disabling 'Login without a password' does not remove user from the nopasswdlogin group

2014-01-19 Thread AZ
This was with a fresh saucy install (Nov 23 2013). I added a new user using
gnome-control-center without setting a password. Then the admin set the
password for the user, removing the automatic login toggle.
Though, the user remained in the nopasswdlogin group, so it could login without
any password. No indication of this was shown in gnome-control-center. By
manually removing the user from that group (deluser xxx nopasswdlogin), the
issue was resolved for that user.

So this bug report is about not removing the user from the nopasswdlogin
group.

created a debdiff that just uses that one.

Steps to reproduce:

Create a cups printer (ipp here) that supports different output resolutions.
Make the finest resolution the default. Then open a pdf using evince and try to
print it.
Expected result: Finest resolution gets selected in printing dialog.
Observed result: Lowest resolution gets selected.

[Bug 724205] Re: gdm crash on using login button with passwordless login enabled

2011-03-06 Thread AZ
I've created another patch that avoids introducing a new variable by making
sure that the the log-in button is disabled if MODE_AUTHENTICATION is used and
no queries are pending.
This debdiff is against gdm-2.30.5-0ubuntu4 (maverick), the main difference to
the version proposed upstream is that the ubuntu code has a reset_dialog call
in gdm_greeter_login_window_ready, which makes the set_{sensitive,focus,ready}
calls in this method superflous.
I've tested this patch with timed login, password less login with user list,
password less login without user list, login with password with user list,
login with password without user list.

[Bug 724205] [NEW] gdm crash on using login button with passwordless login enabled

2011-02-24 Thread AZ
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gdm

When adding a user (guest) to the nopasswdlogin group, it is permitted to login
via gdm without providing credentials. In my setup, user listing at login
screen is enabled and pam_mkhomedir is active every time the guest user logs
in. After choosing the user guest, gdm displays a screen lacking the password
input box (which is correct) and containing a cancel and a login button.
As pam_mkhomedir takes a moment to copy the full homedir (it is a little big
bigger), the user has the opportunity to click on the login button ( though
this would not be neccessary to login). This in turn causes gdm to crash, see
the attached backtrace (recompiled the original ubuntu gdm package with
DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS="nostrip debug").

After debugging I now believe that the following is happening: on clicking on
the login button, an answer query dbus message is generated, which is then
rejected by the receiver due to no pam authentification request is pending. The
latter is correct, as no password has been asked for, so the answer query dbus
message should only be generated if an pam input query is pending.
The attached patch fixes this by adding a pending_query boolean which is set on
receiving an input request and unset on replying / resetting.

[Bug 246364] Re: seahorse asks twice for gpg key password

2009-01-19 Thread AZ
I can confirm this bug.
I reconfigured my gnome gpg settings in system->preferences->encryption and set
"do not remember password".
Since then enigmail asked everytime I opened a mail though I set "remember for
5 min" in enigmail prefs.
Now I reset that the option in gnome->preferences->encryption to 20min, I works
again with enigmail.

I would expect enigmail to either ignore the gnome settings or
alert me of this setting being in place and overriding the engimail setting.

[Bug 46965] Re: "Quit.." -menuitem is not translated

2006-05-28 Thread Rui Az.
Thank you for the bug report.

This string was recently changed by the developer so localization
probably didn't occur yet in all the languages.

However, for finnish locale the translation is already done as you can
see in:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+source/gnome-panel/+pots
/gnome-panel-2.0/fi/+translate?count=100&offset=200

So this problem at least for finnish will be solved in the next release
of the language-pack.

[Bug 45529] Re: Fix for .desktop file to contain proper Polish language entries

2006-05-22 Thread Rui Az.
You can translate the desktop entry via the PO file in Rosetta. As you
are an approved translator, try the following address:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+source/gimp/+pots/gimp20/pl/+translate?count=100&offset=2300

Search for "desktop.in" and you will find it.

[Bug 45875] Untranslated strings from 06_toc-with-desc.patch

2006-05-21 Thread Rui Az.
Public bug reported:

Using 21 May Dapper daily build, Clicking in System->Help->System
Documentation, using Portuguese (pt) language, the strings mentioned
below are shown in English, although in the PO file of Yelp they are
translated for a long time now.

#: ../data/toc.xml.in.h:9
msgid "Guides to using the desktop"
msgstr ""

#: ../data/toc.xml.in.h:13
msgid "Manuals for installed programs"
msgstr ""

#: ../data/toc.xml.in.h:14
msgid "Miscellaneous technical documents"
msgstr ""

** Affects: yelp (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal

[Bug 24196] Re: Help ubuntu docs pointing to pt_BR instead of pt (PT).

2006-05-14 Thread Rui Az.
Thanks for your attention. The bug is still active and the pt content is
not correctly referenced in yelp.

Although directories like /usr/share/scrollkeeper/Templates/pt are now
being created, they have no content. I've just built a version putting
the pt.po translation onto the source code, in the po/ directory, and
everything seems to work fine. My understanding is that scrollkeeper
needs that file. Can you please do that? Thank you.

Translation available here:

[Bug 40244] Application Launcher and Custom Application Launcher confusing

2006-04-19 Thread Rui Az.
Public bug reported:

Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
In my opinion, I find very confusing the strings "Application Launcher"
and "Custom Application Launcher" in the right-click dialog "Add to
Panel". Why not something like "Menu Applications", "Custom Application"
or perhaps "Add Menu Applications", "Add Custom Application" ?

[Bug 39308] Re: "Low Disk Space" string not translatable

2006-04-12 Thread Rui Az.
Thanks for the quick reply. I'm talking about "Low Disk Space" string, none of
the ones you mentioned. "Low Disk Space" string appeared to me in several
notifications in Dapper. I quickly grepped the code and appears to be there and
not translatable.

[Bug 39308] "Low Disk Space" string not translatable

2006-04-12 Thread Rui Az.
Public bug reported:

Affects: gnome-volume-manager (Ubuntu)
   Severity: Normal
   Priority: (none set)
 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
It seems that the string "Low Disk Space" is not translatable, although
the message that appears after it, "%d%% of the disk space on %s is in
use" is.

It seems that "New audio playback device detected" is also not
translatable (didn't check).

[Bug 24196] Help ubuntu docs pointing to pt_BR instead of pt (PT).

2006-03-21 Thread Rui Az.
Public bug report changed:
https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/24196

Comment:
Daniel, what kind of info do you want? Everything works as expected
after installing the patched .deb, for Portuguese "pt".

(A side comment. I noticed that in
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/dapper/+source/scrollkeeper/+translations
you can translate to all languages, even the ones that supposedly
scrollkeeper does not support natively.)
