[Bug 880739] [NEW] changing option "show menubar by default" won't be saved
Public bug reported: If I choose Edit -> Profile Preferences -> untick "Show menubar by default in new terminals" -> Close The menubar will disappear from the current terminal, but if I close it and reopen a new terminal, it will appear again. So somehow this change in the profile is not reflected in the newly appearing terminals, even though if I then go again and try and change the option, it is unchecked in the options menu. Re: [Bug 358547] Re: nautilus overrides focus when swapping between main and secondary screen
yes, it still happens in jaunty, using LiveCD. It's nautilus that is a problem: I download 2 images from the web into my Desktop. I open a web browser that occupies most of the desktop space but where the images are, then double-click on the first of them, eog stays on top of the browser, double-click the second one, new eog stays on top of browser and first image. Now I open a nautilus window and go to Desktop. Double-click on the first image, eog stays on top of the browser. Double-click on the second image, and it's hidden behind the nautilus window. Re: [Bug 358547] Re: nautilus overrides focus when swapping between main and secondary screen

This only happens the first type one clicks on it. If you right click on the right space, and refresh it, then the second time you click on the tab to expand the window, it works. [Bug 49973] gnome 2.14.2 borked my gdm login, menus, etc
Public bug reported: Hi, After automatically updating the gnome-related packages available at 13-16 Jun 2006, I have serious problems with gnome: When I try to login with gdm, the automatic login asks for my password, and when I enter it, it says is incorrect. Then the gdm menu appears, and I enter my username and password, and it also fails. If I do the same in a terminal (Alt+ctrl+F1), with identical username and password, if works fine. I can start a GUI session with startx, but then gnome-related apps will fail, like gnome-panel and such. ** Affects: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- gnome 2.14.2 borked my gdm login, menus, etc https://launchpad.net/bugs/49973 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 49964] gdm won't recognize my password
Public bug reported: Hi, I updated Dapper with the mew packages available for at 16 Jun 2006 (or possibly 15th), and now gdm won't let me in, saying that my password is incorrect. If I do an Alt+Ctrl+F1 and enter the same username and password in terminal mode, it works fine. I can "/etc/init.d/gdm stop" and "startx" from there, and then everything seems normal. Is anything borked with gnome-related updates of the aforementioned date? my version is: gdm - 2.14.7-0ubuntu libgnome2-0 - 2.14.1-0ubuntu If now I try to run System->Administration->Login Window or System->Preferences->Sessions or System->Administration->Update Manager nothing shows up.
