Public bug reported: I am using an Apple Magic Trackpad with my Ubuntu system (Oneiric Beta 1). Evince seems to recognise some gestures, but even basic functionality is not working properly. * Scrolling with a two-finger gesture works, but there is a lag each time before scrolling actually starts, i.e. one starts the gesture, and only half a second or a second later the scrolling starts on the screen. This happens with both my internal touchpad, as well as the external Apple bluetooth trackpad. * Rotating works, however the zoom level changes in an unpredictable way. In fact, after repeated rotating, my document is as small as a stamp! * Zooming gestures are recognised, but the screen is not redrawn. Only after clicking and scrolling in the UI, the document is shown at the new size. I then figured out that I had to install cups-pk-helper in order to make the unlock button in the top right appear. In fact, now (as of beta1), it's even worse/irritating: When I use the keyboard to adjust brightness, that works, but is presumable handled by the machine itself/BIOS. A little update to this issue. on an updated Karmic machine as of October 11 2009, this does not crash totem anymore. The mp4 stream actually works fine. OK, sorry, I misunderstood the purpose of the applet. I still think thought that it would be nice to have a simple way to inhibit not just suspend, but also the screensaver. I know people who use PowerPoint in a Virtual machine for presentations. I have the exact same behaviour with an external USB webcam from Logitech (model "Quickcam Deluxe for Notebooks"). It uses the UVC driver. It works fine in Ekiga and other apps not accessing it over GStreamer. It also worked fine with GStreamer under Hardy. Anyway it seems Ubuntu doesn't ship all Codecs that Ekiga supports? At least on the screenshots on the ekiga site, more codecs are shown than available on my system. Looks exactly the same. gst-inspect-0.10 videoscale contains the following (end of output): Element Properties: name: The name of the object flags: readable, writable String. Default: null Current: "videoscale0" qos : handle QoS messages flags: readable, writable Boolean.
