[Bug 336392] Re: Calendar navigation with buttons crashes on SIGABRT

I'll mark this as invalid. This particular crash doesn't seem to happen
that consistently with the calendar buttons -- and it seems to happen
even less often when I launch it with G_SLICE=always-malloc

[Bug 336392] [NEW] Calendar navigation with buttons crashes on SIGABRT

2009-03-01 Thread Allen Riddell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Evolution calendar crashes frequently. Most often when I'm navigating to
a new day or when I delete or edit an appointment. I'd say it happens
several times a day, although I've gotten used to it. (It happened far
more often in earlier releases.) Usually I do a --force-shutdown and it
stays ok for a bit. Here's a trace -- happened when I was navigating to
the next month. Thanks for all your work and help!

Yes. it's still happening (trace attached). To be honest, 2.12.1 crashes

this time the crash happened when I clicked on a message with an

[Bug 163134] evolution occasionally but reliably hangs when opening calendar event or deleting calendar event

2007-11-16 Thread Allen Riddell
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I'd describe it as follows -- occasionally, perhaps once or twice a day while
using evolution's calendar, either double clicking on a calendar event or
deleting it (sometimes moving it) evolution will hang. It doesn't crash,
however, it just freezes. I'll be happy to get a trace (as I said, it happens
frequently) but I'm not sure how to do that when it's a freeze and not a crash.

The problem used to occur _constantly_, perhaps once every 15 minutes of
active evolution calendar use. After I did a complete reinstall (wiped
.evolution, gconf) and manually imported everything back, it has
happened less frequently, but it still happens. I have multiple
calendars and lots of appointments.

As you can imagine this is a serious annoyance for a heavy evolution
user and detracts considerably from the attractiveness of ubuntu..

System: gutsy, amd64

This is a little similar to #51005, perhaps it's a an AMD64 problem.

I encounter the same problem. I've installed evolution-data-server-

error.

hopefully the new traces will help. I'd describe the crash situation the
same way although I'm not positive it's exactly the same bug.
