[Bug 197290] Re: 2 gb max inbox

2008-03-04 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
I have the same problem and in the error dialog Evolution said: No se
pudo crear un bloqueo de carpetas en

for folders can not be created in /home/acs/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox.
File too big.

[Bug 61211] Re: Your audio capture settings are invalid. Please correct them in the Multimedia settings. is a really unhelpful error message

2008-01-26 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
Finally I have it working selecting in the Audio Capture in
System-Settings, Alsa.

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ asoundconf list
Names of available sound cards:
ICH6

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ head -14 .asoundrc.asoundconf | tail -5
defaults.ctl.card ICH6
defaults.pcm.device 0
defaults.pcm.subdevice -1
defaults.pcm.nonblock 1
defaults.pcm.ipc_key 5678293

I think it is the first time I have gnome-source-record working like an
angel.

[Bug 61211] Re: Your audio capture settings are invalid. Please correct them in the Multimedia settings. is a really unhelpful error message

2008-01-09 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
It is very usuful to launch gnome-source-record with debug options:

gnome-sound-recorder --gst-debug-level=2

At least you can see what it is going wrong.

[Bug 67709] Re: Messages in Inbox are hidden after using new search engine

2007-02-14 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
Daniel, I am sorry to inform you that I was getting crazy in Evolution
trying to find some messages. Using the Search in all accounts I can
find the messages but not if I only search in the folder where the
message is (you can check that in the previous search in all accounts).

Finally I remembered this problem, go to View-Show hidden messages, and
then all the messages appeared in my folder another time. I think I am
sure some users will get crazy with this issue: the Search field in the
main view in the email that in some way filter the messages with the
field empty.

Hmmm, I have been using evolution for some months now and my problems
with the search engine aren't a stopper for me. I think that the search
logic isn't perfect but good enough to find the ways to make it works.

Kind regards!

[Bug 67709] Re: Messages in Inbox are hidden after using new search engine

2006-10-24 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
I have tried to reproduce it but I don't have a step by step guide to
reproduce it, sorry.

But the conflict between the main menu View-Hide read messages and
the Show list selector widget in the message view is trivial to check
and see the bug.

As I have said, if I reproduce the search problem in a step by step
manner I will report it.

[Bug 67709] Messages in Inbox are hidden after using new search engine

2006-10-23 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
Public bug reported:

Using the new search engine all my messages in Inbox have been hidden
without me trying to do so. Then I have lost some minutes trying to make
them appear. Finally I have solved it going to View-Show hidden
messages (which was unchecked) and selecting this entry.

For the end user she could go crazy with this kind of failures.

[Bug 67709] Re: Messages in Inbox are hidden after using new search engine

2006-10-23 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
The problem isn't that I have information in the search field filtering
the messages shown, but that in some way the messages in the inbox are
changed to hidden state and the user can't see them anymore. I relate it
to use the search field but not sure why the message finally entered the
hidden state. I know this isn't a very good bug report because I can't
describe exactly how I get the problem but in any case, I want to try to
report it. I am sure in the future you will receive reports like that.
If I understand how to reproduce it better, I will report to this bug
with more details.

Thank you for caring so quickly the bugs reports ;-)

Exactly Daniel, the search field was completely empty and the messages
were hidden. I need to use the entry menu:

View-Show hidden messages

and then all the messages appear. Ufff ;-)

[Bug 67709] Re: Messages in Inbox are hidden after using new search engine

2006-10-23 Thread Alvaro del Castillo
This morning I have the same problem after launching Evolution. And I
have found another source of problems. In the new UI in the messages
view to the left of the search engine you have a list selector and you
can for example control if to show all messages or only the messages not
read.

But if you mix that list selector with the menu entry View-Hide Read Messages,
you can't control from the list selector (the best way because it is in the UI
very visible) anymore to see all the messages. In the list selector you can
have selected All Messages but you only see the not read messages.

And also, in the View menu entry the View-Hide Read Messages no tip appears
behind the menu entry so you are unaware that you have selected it.

The new UI is cool and much better but for now it isn't working
correctly because it isn't working coordinating the actions between
different UI widgets.

Daniel, if you need more data about the problems, just ask for it. I
can't reproduce the first bug report in a step by step guide but this
morning I have the problem another time.

The View-Show Hidden Messages is for now my work around.

I suppose in next versions of Evolution the entries in View menu that
also are managed now from the Show list selector in message view will be
removed, after user learn to use the new UI.

Evolution 2.8 seems to be much faster than the previous version with my
55000 messages folders ;-)
