[Bug 990401] [NEW] Scrolling in the playlist also changes the track position slider

2012-04-28 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Open the right-side panel and select Playlist. Add many tracks or reduce
the size of the window in order to enable the vertical scrol slider. Put
your mouse pointer in the playlist and double-click on a file so that
the music starts.

Let say you want to scroll the playlist to choose another song : if you
use the wheel of your mouse, the track horizontal slider moves as well.

Thanks in advance to the developers.

2010-01-18 Thread Arnaud Dessein
I confirm this bug on Jaunty too. Very boring.
As Sebastien Bacher said, un-checking the "GNOME Login Sound" in Startup
Application" or removing the line seems to work until you reopen the window and
see that the line is back.
I think this "GNOME Login Sound" setting should be placed in the Sounds > Sound
Effects configuration window. I would like to understand in what extend this
setting is an "Application"...
Thank you very much !

[Bug 496681] Re: Rhythmbox does not save playlist on iPod

2010-01-12 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Same problem here with Karmic and an IPod formated under WIndows.

Since I am using Ubuntu (3 years), I have never been able to create any
playlist with Rhytmbox. Did it already work once for someone ?
I had other problems with IPods and Rhytmbox : friends of mine complained that
their IPod went completely empty after connecting to my computer at new year's
Eve but that's a different problem, another bug I should open...

Thanks ;)

[Bug 428117] [NEW] gthumb does not fit the images to the screen size during Slide Show or full screen

2009-09-11 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gthumb

Unlike Eye of Gnome, gthumb does not fit the pictures to the screen size
when the user asks for a full screen view or a slide show. If the
picture is larger than the screen resolution then only the upper part of
the picture appears. The user has to click on "Zoom to fit window" in
the upper toolbar (hiden during slideshow) for each picture displayed.

This is very annoying, it would be great if it could be fixed, calling
for instance the function "Zoom to fit window" every time a picture is
load and displayed.

Thank you.

Re: [Bug 370546] Re: Contact preview window should be vertical instead of horizontal

2009-05-02 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Thank you Michael for your reply.

Sébastien Bacher told me that "the wishlist should be sent to the
software writters on bugzilla.gnome.org".

On the other hand the link https://brainstorm.ubuntu.com/ rises the
error "SSL received a record that exceeded the maximum permissible
length.". Maybe I should try latter.

What should I do with my suggestion then ? bugzilla or brainstorm or
both ?

Best regards,

[Bug 370546] [NEW] Contact preview window should be vertical instead of horizontal

2009-05-01 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

This is a "wish", not a bug.

In Evolution Contacts one can create a preview window pressing Ctrl+M or
in menu View > Contact Preview.

The window appears under the contact list. I think it is not convenient
at all and that it would be better if the window could appear on the
right of the list ("Portrait" orientation if you know what I mean).

Thank you.

[Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy

2008-11-08 Thread Arnaud Dessein
I have just tried Intrepid on a LiveUSB
(http://liveusb.info/dotclear/index.php) as I can not burn the LiveCD on
Hardy...

I have been able to burn an entire DVD+R DL using Brasero without any
problem. I have md5sum-checked every files : none of them is corrupted.

Maybe I have found my solution... Do you know why it does work on
Intrepid for me ? Have some important things related to burning been
updated/improved in Intrepid ?

I have seen on the other bug report that the bug will be / is fixed for

[Bug 287412] [NEW] Impossible to change FLAC Vorbis Tags using Rhythmbox

2008-10-22 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Hi,

I am updating the tags of almost every files in my music library using
Rythmbox : I right-click on a song or a selection of songs, then
properties and in Basic I change Title, Artist, Album... fields. That
works perfectly for all my MP3 files but NOT for my FLAC files.

When I change the tags of a FLAC file under Rhythmbox, the changes seem
to be saved : on the library the tags are correct and the songs are
sorted in the right Genre, Artist and Album (using the function Browse
to have the 2 or 3 panes like in ITunes). BUT if I close Rythmbox and
restart it, the FLAC files appear with their old tags, the ones I have
tried to modify.

Looking at the files properties into Nautilus shows that the tags are
not modified or SAVED in the file. I have to use EasyTAG 2.1.4 to be
able to change the tags of my FLAC files and that works perfectly.

Then I think it is a bug : the writing/updating of FLAC tags does not
work in Rhythmbox.

Thank you.

[Bug 284584] [NEW] Appointments after Sat Oct, 18th are displayed one hour later

2008-10-16 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When a appointment is added in Evolution, it can be seen under the calendar
(clicking on the Clock applet) in the Appointments section.
If I create an event on Sunday 19 October or later, it appears at a wrong time
in this small list but appears properly in the Evolution calendar. All the
appointments on Sunday 19 October or late are displayed 1 hour later.

Test :

1) Create the event "Test 12:00" the Sunday 19 October 2008 at 12:00 in
Evolution Calendar
2) Click on the clock, and on the date 19 October
3) Click on Appointments under the calendar : the event is at 13:00

My Time zone iz Europe/Copenhagen

[Bug 277584] Re: The hyperlinks in a PDF file are printed in a box (borders)

2008-10-06 Thread Arnaud Dessein
You're welcome.

But I do not really know what I should attach... I mean, I have attached
the original file (Report.pdf), generated with PDFLaTex and I have
"printed to file" the table of contents (because it is enough to see the
problem) using evince (file output.pdf). Is it OK ?

As you can see on the original file, the different sections in the table
of contents are bordered : the titles are hyperlinks. But in output.pdf
it is also bordered in colour.

It is NOT a problem with my printer because I have printed the report
using KPDF and no borders appear on my report.

I can not try on intrepid because I do not want to install it, I would
like to keep my LTS version.

Thank you.

[Bug 164265] Re: Transferring AAC files to iPod is broken

2008-06-19 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Hello,

One or two month ago, I have reported the following bug :

When you try to send (drag and drop on rhythmbox ubuntu 0.11.5) an *OGG* file
to an IPOD, the file is not converted and then (inevitably) can not be read on
the ipod.
My bug report has been marked as a duplicated bug with this one (#164265). I
have never understood what was the link but I was confident.

Now this bug has been fixed and the problem still there (for OGG files),
I wonder if my bug report has been judged to rapidly as a duplicate...

Should I report my bug once again ?

Thanks

Arnaud

user datas and seems to be specific to some hardware, it might be
annoying to you who have one of those though but that doesn't make the
bug a priority for the distribution"

I completely understand what he says and I didn't mean that MY problem
was a priority. I completely agree that there is a lot of bugs and I can
imagine that it is a lot of work for a small team of volunteers. I know
that and I thank them very very well.

Andry, I can not believe you think what you have written :

"If you want to burn CDs and DVDs and restore your Backup from Data DVDs
them maybe Ubuntu is not for you. Get a Mac or maybe even Windows Vista
Basic. Maybe you may have better luck with a floppy drive if you must
use removable media and Ubuntu Hardy on the same computer."

Are you saying that Ubuntu is and should be limited to old media ? Do
you really think Ubuntu is not for me because I make backups on CDs and
DVDs ? What you have written is so strange !

Finally, Sebastien, who is your last message intended for ?

"could you stay correct when commenting on the bug? the people you are
talking to are mostly volunteer doing work for free and who have a lot
to do, the fact hardy has issues on your hardware doesn't mean it has
issue for everybody and that nobody is going to work on those"

Because if it is to me, I do not understand why you have waited 10 hours
to write this. I think I have been correct and polite in my first
message: I said "Hi", "could", "thanks a lot". But it is true I have
forgotten a "please", I am sorry if it is the problem.

I repeat once again and for the last time (because I think it is not the
right place to argue) : I know there is a lot of work, I have always
respected people who fix the bugs, I am not complaining about a lake of
work or a delay. I just wanted to remind this bug may be more
embarrassing for some people (compared to others who have just problems
of compatibility with windows XP or who can write at low speed).

I am very very sorry that my message have been misunderstood. I hope you
are more open and nicer than you seem (I completely agree with the
Sebastien's first message but I am shocked by the following ones).

Best regards to all.

Arnaud

[Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy

2008-06-10 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Hi !

Could someone explain me why the importance of this bug is set to LOW ?
I mean, I am pretty sure there is a lot important bugs related to
security issues and so on, but I can not burn any CD or DVD since I am
on Hardy. It is very very difficult for me not being able to make
backups or burn important CDs as rescue CD or ubuntu LiveCD.

I do not know how if the "importance" changes how the bug report is
considered and treated, and I am sure you are doing as fast as you can,
but maybe you could reconsider the importance of this bug.

Thanks a lot.

[Bug 235785] Re: Ipod : impossible to drag and drop a file directly from Nautilus to the ipod

2008-05-29 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Hi Pedro,

I am sorry if my report has not been precise enough.

I have tried with both list and icon view in my nautilus window : the
behaviour is the same.

I drag a file from a Nautilus window and drop it on the bar having the
name of my Ipod in the section Devices of the Side Pane. If I try to
drop it in the frame where my ipod songs are listed, the icon flies
away. But if I drop it on the bar, the small "+" symbol appears and all
seems to work properly... but nothing happens.

Thanks,

Arnaud

[Bug 235790] [NEW] Ipod : duplicate entry not checked when upload a file to an Ipod

2008-05-29 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

If you upload a music file to an Ipod twice, the file is copied and then
two copies of the same file coexist on the Ipod.

It would be really nice if Rhythmbox would look for a file with the same
name before transferring a file (i am not referring to the ID3 tags, I
think the file name would be enough). A quick check would prevent
duplicate entries from being created.

Finally, the user would be asked if he wants to update the file or
cancel the transfer...

Thanks to all !

[Bug 235785] [NEW] Ipod : impossible to drag and drop a file directly from Nautilus to the ipod

2008-05-29 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

If you drag and drop a file from your windows manager (Nautilus for
instance) to your Ipod in Rhythmbox, nothing happens. To upload a file
to an ipod, the file must be added to the library first and then dragged
and dropped from the library to the ipod.

I think it would be really nice to be able to upload a file to the ipod
directly, without passing through the library.

[Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy SOLVED --- BURN AT 2X

2008-05-25 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Same problem here. I have a Sony VGN-C1S laptop with a Pionner DVR-416M
CD/DVD recorder. I can no longer burn CD's or DVD's with neither brasero
nor nautilus-cd-burner...

Here is a log file from brasero

I hope a fix will be released soon (and happy to know the problem
doesn't come from my CD's).

Good luck and thank you...

[Bug 227530] Re: Impossible to read music with an IPod when the source file is an OGG file

2008-05-07 Thread Arnaud Dessein
You are right, the files I can not read with my Ipod are converted into
MPEG-4 AAC audio files (.mp4), I have browsed my Ipod with Nautilus. All
those files have the comment "Lavf1d.51.10.0", maybe it is the name of
the converting program.

Then, have I reported a bug already known ? In this case feel free to
delete my bug report and good luck for solving the problem, I hope the
fix will be available soon :D.

Thank you.

[Bug 227530] Re: Impossible to read music with an IPod when the source file is an OGG file

2008-05-07 Thread Arnaud Dessein
In fact I do not know what rhythmbox does when I drag and drop an OGG
file to my IPOD, I guess it converts the file because if I have well
understood, an IPOD does not support other formats than MP3. It is why I
think the problem comes from here.

I will try to figure out what is the format of the file once it is
uploaded to the IPOD but I do not know how to do it...

Do you need further information ?

[Bug 227530] [NEW] Impossible to read music with an IPod when the source file is an OGG file

2008-05-06 Thread Arnaud Dessein
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

I have converted MP3 files into OGG files using xcfa. I have checked they are
readable with Rhythmbox.
But when I upload them to my IPOD nano, they can not be read : my IPOD skip
them as if they were empty or unreadable.
Maybe the problem comes from the automatic conversion into MP3 before uploading
into the IPOD...
