[Bug 990401] [NEW] Scrolling in the playlist also changes the track position slider
Public bug reported: Open the right-side panel and select Playlist. Add many tracks or reduce the size of the window in order to enable the vertical scrol slider. Put your mouse pointer in the playlist and double-click on a file so that the music starts. Let say you want to scroll the playlist to choose another song : if you use the wheel of your mouse, the track horizontal slider moves as well. Thanks in advance to the developers. I confirm this bug on Jaunty too. Very boring. As Sebastien Bacher said, un-checking the "GNOME Login Sound" in Startup Application" or removing the line seems to work until you reopen the window and see that the line is back. I think this "GNOME Login Sound" setting should be placed in the Sounds > Sound Effects configuration window. I would like to understand in what extend this setting is an "Application"... Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Hi, I am updating the tags of almost every files in my music library using Rythmbox : I right-click on a song or a selection of songs, then properties and in Basic I change Title, Artist, Album... fields. That works perfectly for all my MP3 files but NOT for my FLAC files. When I change the tags of a FLAC file under Rhythmbox, the changes seem to be saved : on the library the tags are correct and the songs are sorted in the right Genre, Artist and Album (using the function Browse to have the 2 or 3 panes like in ITunes). BUT if I close Rythmbox and restart it, the FLAC files appear with their old tags, the ones I have tried to modify. Looking at the files properties into Nautilus shows that the tags are not modified or SAVED in the file. I have to use EasyTAG 2.1.4 to be able to change the tags of my FLAC files and that works perfectly. Then I think it is a bug : the writing/updating of FLAC tags does not work in Rhythmbox. [Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy
Hi, Excuse me but I do not understand what happens to you. After my message, Sebastien gave my a reply : "changing the settings will not really make the bug fixed faster, there is thousand of bugs opened and a very small team to work on those, the issue might be an annoying one but it's not a security bug nor destroy user datas and seems to be specific to some hardware, it might be annoying to you who have one of those though but that doesn't make the bug a priority for the distribution" I completely understand what he says and I didn't mean that MY problem was a priority. I completely agree that there is a lot of bugs and I can imagine that it is a lot of work for a small team of volunteers. I know that and I thank them very very well. Andry, I can not believe you think what you have written : "If you want to burn CDs and DVDs and restore your Backup from Data DVDs them maybe Ubuntu is not for you. Get a Mac or maybe even Windows Vista Basic. Maybe you may have better luck with a floppy drive if you must use removable media and Ubuntu Hardy on the same computer." Are you saying that Ubuntu is and should be limited to old media ? Do you really think Ubuntu is not for me because I make backups on CDs and DVDs ? What you have written is so strange ! Finally, Sebastien, who is your last message intended for ? "could you stay correct when commenting on the bug? the people you are talking to are mostly volunteer doing work for free and who have a lot to do, the fact hardy has issues on your hardware doesn't mean it has issue for everybody and that nobody is going to work on those" Because if it is to me, I do not understand why you have waited 10 hours to write this. I think I have been correct and polite in my first message: I said "Hi", "could", "thanks a lot". But it is true I have forgotten a "please", I am sorry if it is the problem. I repeat once again and for the last time (because I think it is not the right place to argue) : I know there is a lot of work, I have always respected people who fix the bugs, I am not complaining about a lake of work or a delay. I just wanted to remind this bug may be more embarrassing for some people (compared to others who have just problems of compatibility with windows XP or who can write at low speed). I am very very sorry that my message have been misunderstood. I hope you are more open and nicer than you seem (I completely agree with the Sebastien's first message but I am shocked by the following ones). Best regards to all. It would be really nice if Rhythmbox would look for a file with the same name before transferring a file (i am not referring to the ID3 tags, I think the file name would be enough). A quick check would prevent duplicate entries from being created. Finally, the user would be asked if he wants to update the file or cancel the transfer... Thanks to all ! [Bug 235785] [NEW] Ipod : impossible to drag and drop a file directly from Nautilus to the ipod
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox If you drag and drop a file from your windows manager (Nautilus for instance) to your Ipod in Rhythmbox, nothing happens. To upload a file to an ipod, the file must be added to the library first and then dragged and dropped from the library to the ipod. I think it would be really nice to be able to upload a file to the ipod directly, without passing through the library. [Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy SOLVED --- BURN AT 2X
Same problem here. I have a Sony VGN-C1S laptop with a Pionner DVR-416M CD/DVD recorder. I can no longer burn CD's or DVD's with neither brasero nor nautilus-cd-burner... Here is a log file from brasero I hope a fix will be released soon (and happy to know the problem doesn't come from my CD's). Good luck and thank you... ** Attachment added: "brasero-session.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14701807/brasero-session.log -- CD/DVD burning problem in hardy SOLVED --- BURN AT 2X https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/200337 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to brasero in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 227530] Re: Impossible to read music with an IPod when the source file is an OGG file
You are right, the files I can not read with my Ipod are converted into MPEG-4 AAC audio files (.mp4), I have browsed my Ipod with Nautilus. All those files have the comment "Lavf1d.51.10.0", maybe it is the name of the converting program. Then, have I reported a bug already known ? In this case feel free to delete my bug report and good luck for solving the problem, I hope the fix will be available soon :D. [Bug 227530] Re: Impossible to read music with an IPod when the source file is an OGG file
In fact I do not know what rhythmbox does when I drag and drop an OGG file to my IPOD, I guess it converts the file because if I have well understood, an IPOD does not support other formats than MP3. It is why I think the problem comes from here. I will try to figure out what is the format of the file once it is uploaded to the IPOD but I do not know how to do it... [Bug 227530] [NEW] Impossible to read music with an IPod when the source file is an OGG file
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox I have converted MP3 files into OGG files using xcfa. I have checked they are readable with Rhythmbox. But when I upload them to my IPOD nano, they can not be read : my IPOD skip them as if they were empty or unreadable. Maybe the problem comes from the automatic conversion into MP3 before uploading into the IPOD...
