[Bug 570519] Re: MSN won't disconnect

2010-05-13 Thread Bálint Magyar
This seems to be happening to me after being in an away/busy status for
an unknown amount of time. Usually, I will leave the PC to idle and when
I return, every account goes back to Available except MSN, which does
not seem to respond to status changes anymore afterwards. Killing
telepathy-butterfly makes Empathy realize that its disconnected and will
present the info bar in its main window. After reconnecting telepathy-
butterfly is relaunched and it works fine until the next time I manually
or automatically go away/busy.

Moving everything to the left opens up the space on the right nicely,

Is the plan to move windows' menus and then most menubars away from right under
the close button? Even then, in my opinion this experiment's results are
worthless without some real statistical data regarding participants' mouse

[Bug 224475] Re: Pressing volume/brightness key changes window focus (e.g. makes Flash exit full screen)

I think the actual bug here is that changing volume or brightness steals
focus for a split second, as evidenced by Steps to reproduce, B in the

one, as it happens with ALL global hotkeys, such as launching the E-mail

[Bug 537097] [NEW] Application Indicator menu can get really wide because of long artist name or song title

2010-03-10 Thread Bálint Magyar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

The Application Indicator menu's width is defined by its menu items. In
the case of Rhythmbox, this includes the currently playing song's artist
and the song's title, both of which can be really long. This results in
an unsightly, wide menu which could be easily fixed if said items were
automatically ellipsized.

[Bug 279302] Re: Rhythmbox visualization popup toolbar defines window's minimum width

2010-03-03 Thread Bálint Magyar
My idea for a better solution would be a button in one of the corners of
the visualization itself, as seen in the attached mockup. Clicking the
button would pop up a context menu that has the same options as the
hover toolbar currently. This would not only save space, but prevent the
(quite distracting) jumping around of the visualization, as the hover
toolbar resizes the canvas instead of appearing over it (like for
example the seekbar in a fullscreen Totem).

Optionally, the Options button could fade in and out as the mouse cursor
hovers over the visualization.

I realize that the current implementation might not allow for an alpha-
blended smoothly animated button, or would take too much time to add,
but even then, a single button for settings that are probably not
changed too often would be a way better solution than a large toolbar.

2008-06-25 Thread Bálint Magyar
Crossposting my relevant info from bug #209520:

Updated the gvfs and samba related packages from hardy-proposed [on
24th June 2008]. Trying to reach a Windows Server 2003 share in an
Active Directory domain environment through Nautilus' Connect to
Server... resulted in the following message box after supplying the
login info:

Sorry, couldn't display all the contents of smb: The specified
location is not mounted

Upon reloading the same Nautilus window, it produced the original
Unable to mount message. Both before and after the update, connecting
to a share on the server with smbclient works as intended (using the -U
and -W arguments to specify login info).

I have talked about this to Sebastien Bacher earlier this month, but I
guess it should be made public that I have talked to my supervisor at
work about this and we can provide remote access to a Hardy box in a
Windows Server 2003 domain environment for testing purposes. I would
like to ask the developers to contact me if this will be needed and we
will discuss the details in private.

As of today, browsing Windows 2003 shares works (i.e. it lists the
available shares on the server correctly), actually listing the contents
of the shares and mounting produces the above symptoms.

Steve, I'm quite confused about which bug my experiences belong under,
as my original bug #215570 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug
twice. To be sure, Windows 2003 shares use NTLMv2 auth. Quite sure my
problems are unrelated to #207072 as browsing seems to work fine, but
not mounting or actually displaying contents of shares.

[Bug 215570] [NEW] Cannot browse/mount Windows Server 2003 shares

2008-04-11 Thread Bálint Magyar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

Ubuntu Hardy Beta with all updates as of date, upgraded from Gutsy.

I'm trying to reach SMB shares provided by a server running Windows
Server 2003 (Active Directory login), through Nautilus. I get the
Failed to mount Windows share error dialog, and an empty listing. It
does not ask for my password, it's not in the keyring. smb://serverroot/
gives me a list of the shares as expected, trying to enter them results
in the error.

Using File Connect to Server... in Nautilus and filling in the login
info results in the same error when pressing Connect.

gnomevfs-ls and smbclient list the files correctly, gvfs-mount results
in Error mounting location: Failed to mount Windows share.

Browsing SMB shares provided by Samba on a Gentoo-based server works
fine.

[Bug 213882] [NEW] gnome-screensaver-command -p does not unblank screen turned off by Power Management

2008-04-08 Thread Bálint Magyar
Public bug reported:

See summary.

This is just a really minor annoyance, in my case because I use
BlueProximity to lock the screen when I'm not near my notebook (it's
paired with my phone), and when Power Management turns the screen off
after a while, BlueProximity issues a gnome-screensaver-command -p and
then an unlock. The unlock happens, but I have to move the mouse or
press a key to unblank the screen again.

Ubuntu Hardy Beta + all updates as of the date of this post.

[Bug 108623] Re: totem isn't buffering correctly

2007-10-30 Thread Bálint Magyar
This is seemingly happening to me on Gutsy. No matter what I set my
connection speed to, all embedded videos are unplayable unless I pause
it and wait for it to buffer in the background.

[Bug 153427] CSS HTML color syntax highlight triggers on id selector

2007-10-16 Thread Bálint Magyar
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gedit

With CSS syntax highlighting, if an id selector (#name) starts with
characters that are also hexadecimal digits, said characters are
highlighted with the color for property values.

Example:
#feature { display: block }
#whatever { width: 100px }

#fea is highlighted with the same color as 100px, whereas ture and
#whatever have the default text color.
