This is pretty weird as the applet itself is on the right side of the panel. The panel works just fine for other users. In a tree widget, nobody will choose the root of the tree, only the nodes. The Devnagarii keymap is under the `India' text which is the root of the tree widget, while other languages like Bengali, Malayalam etc. are in the leaf nodes.
